Oh I liked it and it it's quite funny, I can see see that. It's a well used phrase a guilty person would use when they'd committed a wrong. I wish you the best of luck. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla for your kind review. Actually it's something we only ever said in fun, but seemed like a fun subject that needed a repeating line, and my dad loved it. Thanks again!

You have done a remarkable job with this contest entry. Good luck in the contest! I really like the creative way you used Sgt. Schultz as your source for the repeating line. Even though it is fiction it has a great ring of truth. Good Work. Terry.

I enjoyed this poem with it's whimsical undertone.
You did a nice job with the prompt, very creative.
The repeated phrase works well to create a pace that is just right.

This is absolutely delightful! Maybe because I'm old enough to remember the show and that silly line, I really appreciate how you took it and wrote such a witty story/poem. And I like the way you played with the repetition line.
Fun read - thank you!

Either you continued to watch the show and that's where she got it from, or you've continued to say it over the years:-)

I remember this show - watching it as a kid it didn't have an impact. I watched it about a year ago, after I had read a book on WWII, and it took on a whole new meaning. The show was actually brilliant - I just didn't realize it at the time!

And who didn't laugh each time Sgt. Schultz uttered that same line, because it was so well placed in the dialogue.

I wonder if your husband will hear this with a "grandpa" thrown in on Father's Day?

Thanks for sharing this trip back in time, Debi my dear.

I really enjoyed this one as it is written cleverly and with both skill and humour. You chose a great line to repeat, and it is fun to seeing it reappear in your life - and through the generations. Best wishes for your entry.

You made me smile here as we hear our children and ourselves denying something we might be guilty of in this repetitive poem. This is amusing and your Dad had a good sense of humour, the German have been the butt of many jokes in England during the second world war and afterwards, love Dolly x

Hogan's heros, what a great show.. I loved it. I remember the character of Schultz very well, he liked the prisoners in the camp. A fun poem I really enjoyed, best of luck to you. :)

I know nothing. This was cute. Sometimes people use this line to keep from getting into trouble. Especially, kids. John Banner, was a camp guard Sergeant Schultz in the TV series was a show I watched in the sixties. It was a silly show, but in those days we had limited programs. Thank you for posting.

I believe I just commented on this. I'm not sure why it has come around again. Anyway, I loved it the first time and I still love it. Best wishes and success with the contest.

Nice poem for the prompt. A very humorous post that brought back fond memories of Shultz and Hogan's Heros, a show that I watched every afternoon after school when I was growing up.
