This is truly lovely, a way of life everyone should follow.
No need for birthday or holiday to listen to rhapsody in blue, which, by the way, I haven't listened to in years despite the fact I love it! Time to remedy that. Thank you for this inspiration.

Busy women, busy men. Both need a time of reflection and reneual upon occasion. I particularly like your description of 'relaxed soil.'

"Morning finds my roots
curling in relaxed soil,
My senses morphed
into a splash of lights."
These are great lines. They really bring out the sensitivity of the poem. The "splash" is somewhat rejuvenating to the narrators roots and senses. This is very touching and my take on this whole poem was that life is too short and try to not stay upset over things and move on.

Amada, this is such a unique and creative entry for the Creative Tree contest (of which I, too, entered!) Hip Hip Hooray for thinking outside the box. I am so glad you listened to your inner trunk and spend time in renewal, something we all must do to experience " the healing gift".
Such lovely thoughts, indeed.

Nice poem, people really should live their lives for themselves. To many people in this world get caught up doing things that they don't love and the result is unhappiness. This poem gives great advice.

I enjoyed your play on words. Your poem is lively, to the point, taking time out for oneself is so important to re-charge. Good work. The tree says "while I live, I grow."

Comment from Joan E.
You had me from the title and the first line.
The language is engaging: seize the day; dancer in repose; gracious geisha; connect ins and outs; anything lists; court my hands; relaxed soil.
I also liked the admonishments--good reminders-- and the personification of the tree.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi amada...I really enjoyed this poem. It is a prefect write for any woman. When I was young with small children, a full time job away from home and a full time job at home I was too busy to think I was tired or over worked! Looking back I am amazed that I was able to do so much and always accomplish what I set out to do. Wish I had this poem then! Well done....good luck in the contest...blessings....chey
