I like this one. The underdog - well, girl in this case - came out on top.If that was a real life situation I would have loved to have seen Susan's face, lol.

ladybird,
I think it was a case of "day dreaming" that went to far...by accident...Susan never intended it to go and Mandy just thought she finished another of Susan's jobs. Thanks for the review..Smiles, Carol

This is a cute, well-written story. I enjoyed reading it. Sometimes story lines are familiar but the good writer can make them fresh, which is what you did.

Buck,
Mandy just thought she was finishing another of Susan's jobs and Susan was just daydreaming maybe a bit too far...never intending for the message to go anywhere...Thanks for the generous review. Carol
Comment from Belinda
Judging by her character, Mandy would never write such a letter, would she? This misunderstanding is hilarious, Carol, is it also one of your experiences? Interesting entry for the contest.

I liked your turn of events. I like the way Mandy took responsibility for her mistake, and it turned out or her good. Good contender for the contest.

Patricia,
Funny though that the boss just assumed she sent it so she wrote it! Thanks for the great review. Smiles, Carol

It would be great if all mistaken identities could turn out this well. Characters constant throughout. No typo or punctuation glitches apparent. Good luck in the contest.

LOL.... good one!
It is actually a very simple story line, but you have done a great job at description and simple dialogue. I was kinda expecting Jack to ask Mandy out to dinner... but the email part surprised me, esp with the content. :)

Carol,
Your on a roll as of late with your stories. Excellent with a touch of treachery. Jack thought the letter was from Mandy and not the catty Susan. I loved the ending when Jack asked Mandy to dinner. I could see the stunned look on Susan's face. That's what she gets. I love Mandy's last line:
Mandy smiled, "We were discussing mistaken identities."
Excellent short story about the letter. I bet this one wins the writing prompt. Brilliant dialogue and descriptive scheme. I always enjoy reading your stories.
