"Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and Abominations of the Earth" and of course the Whore is associated with the Antichrist and the Beast of Revelation..

B... if I were retarded I would wrack your sack for you ... I gather you either read my poem about Babylon or my bluebird - either way it was a brilliant verse sprinkled in metaphors..

and if someone says something stupid for lack of understanding I gather you will stand up for me - you damn well better B.. you know the level of intellect on this site I will not fancy laughing and being called a whore out of its metaphorical context -

excellent write B... lol the next ones for you pal

This is a hot poem. Especially the peachy picture of a flaming hooker to match the red background. Various mythological characters from the Bible are referenced, and the poem ends with this charming refrain:

Woe, to Babylon: Babylon the whore...!

Out with the Bic, in with the new Mont Blanc.

Beelzebub would most certainly approve!

Well, The whore is a power of the world that has lived in opposition to the Spirit of God and his holiness.

The references to her cring out is what she does to people according to Gods truth.

She is an opium for the masses, where her doctrines and ritualistic practices are portrayed as true religion but in fact are a dead hoax.

She is an old power refered to as Bal, then Baal, then Baalim: This is her name as it progresses through the generations, different in name but the same old power or whore.

this is very well written, bicpen, you did a great job writing this poem about babylon and her fall, who sold herself like a prostitute to the devil. isn't it supposed to be zion or is sion a different spelling?

i'm no great fan of this bible bonking blather
(and i don't mean that unkindly), and this
hasn't turned me head on that score, Bic,
but, from a poetic point, though the tense
see-saws, it's well penned and presented.
thank you for sharing. regards, eph.

Hiya,
This is a great piece of writing, I had to read it a few times before I got it properly-and obviously I did :) I love the dark elements going on here and the imagery you use around this helps. Although in your notes you have mentioned the repition, i have to tell you it works really well and gets the point across easily.
Just a note the presentation you have chosen especially the image gives your poem extre depth, it is like an unwritten line which the reader reads straight away.

Well done I enjoyed reading this xx

An excellent write my friend. It is nice when someone else stands up for the truth and against evil. I find this poem to be professionally written, thought out and executed. A wonderful treat to read this morning. I thank you for the privilege.
