This is a fantastic and funny ABC's of Life poem. I found myself giggling all the way through it and it's fun to laugh. Isn't laughter supposed to be the spice of life and good like medicine? Kat

yes, that's my theory - So in a way I'm a good doctor (as well as a fairly dodgy criminal)

I think this is the best one I have seen so far. Most used Zest for the last one. I enjoyed reading the ABC's you laid out! You did a wonderful job for the contest!

Dear Mystery Master Criminal,
Superb rhyme and metre in this obviously point to a scintillating intellect and determination to do the job properly and the pearls of wisdom displayed can only have come from long experience. My favourite line has to be:
"Quintessential qualities are quietness and quickness."
Good luck in your crusade to educate.
Reg

Thank you, Reg - dunno about the scintillating intellect - maybe you're closer to the mark with long experience.

Bravo! This is fantastic! Despite the topic, I loved the read. And I learned so much from it too... lol! You never know when you might just need to get some quick cash for the mortgage. :)

Hey, Lady, I ain't takin' no blame if you get caught robbin' a bank or nuttin'. Besides, you don't look too good in no balaclava...
reply by Phyllis Stewart on 07-Sep-2012
Actually, I never leave the house without my balaclava... without it I scare little children... trust me, you do NOT want to see this face! LOL! :)

You're a real crowd pleaser, I mean no one can contest your wisdom. What intrigues me is that list of 26 commandments could apply to the goings on of a conservative, straight as a die business man. I mean wasn't Van Gogh who said big business is nothing but organized theft. Forgive his cynicism but he only sold one painting during his whole life time. He might be right, my Russian friends tell the market place stretching from Moldavia to Khazakstan is controlled by the Mafia and it is all very respectable. We can't smirk, it used to be like that in New York State and in Chicago. NO one ever says anything about California. I can add one more principle of faith to your list. Keep away from ordinary people. Money grubbing is a sign of mediocrity. I look foreward to your sequel. -Ekim777

Thanks for the interesting and thought-provoking review - you are right, being a successful criminal would be like being a successful businessman - e only ever hear about the ones who get caught.

Ha ha, love this line:
The only partners that you need are buddies Smith and Wesson.
very funny, very clever, and good use of the "X"! Great fun and an original approach. Best of British to you in the contest

Thank you - yes, I was pleased with that bit of creative genius - my other favourite was the 'protect and serve (yourself) line since 'protect and serve' is the motto of various police forces...

Oh if this does not win the contest I will never enter another one!!! Perfectly perfect in every way!!!! My favorite was the R- "Remember to reward yourself; denial's just a sickness" HAHAHAHAHA!!!
YOUR RHYME IS FANTASTIC, your metering lots of fun - I have no stinking sixes left, or surely you'd get one!

(Oops, I hear a siren now, I really have to run! :)

Thank you so much for the enthusiastic review and the virtual six stars...
yes I liked the line about rewarding yourself because it was so much like the 'straight' rules in the other entries - nothing like a bit of subversion.

Wow, I'm tempted to have this great, hilarious poetic shopping list of the soul printed up and tattooed on my forehead. I lovely little spark of wisdom, covering every imaginable topic from A to Z. Well done! Best of luck in the contest, my friend.

You've adhered to alphabetical order well without forcing lines just to meet alphabet requirements
I love your advice and your humorous tone
strong use of rhyming couplets
I love the eclectic nature of your wisdom, so in one line you want me to act like a boy scout and in the next you are offering advice on how to beat customs LOL
good alliteration in phrases like snitch who'll spoil and people's property
I am so glad you have good advice for the next robbery I plan. LOL
Thoroughly enjoyable and well composed :-) Brooke

I think I should have put a little rider on about not being responsible for anyone following this advice!

Nicely done, poet. I couldn't wait to see what you were going to do X. I think all these rules are
well worth heeding. If this poetry schtick doesn't
work out, I might be able to suggest another career.

Peace, Lee
