This is very touching. The poor cowboy has to struggle with sadness and the agony of being misunderstood and rejected, and his best bet is to keep riding and plunging himself into his work in order to forget. But does it do the trick? well done in good rhymes

Yes, I can see how a woman would not forgive you for bringing her to that desolate place. But the cowboy is a romantic figure for me and I think the poem shows how hard it is working a ranch. The wide open spaces on horse back would help one come to terms with what life offers and the friendship and warm coffee most certainly a sign of the closeness of such a hard life. That cowboy is lucky with all that is around him. His broken heart will mend and most likely another will grab him soon. Enjoyed this immensely.

Yes, I can see how a woman would not forgive you for bringing her to that desolate place. But the cowboy is a romantic figure for me and I think the poem shows how hard it is working a ranch. Beautiful tribute to the cowboy. I was almost the cowboy's wife and often wonder if I would have been as happy as I am now.
I was able to ride with him as he ended one day and began the next.

Sadness fills the lines of this poem. You paint a photograph of the west, of the lonely life of a cowboy, and how hard it is for the ones who don't fit in, who don't love the life.
