Your well penned, detailed free verse presents a said story in our nation's
history. I remember where I was when I heard the news. I was in my eighth
grade grammar school class when it was announced over the intercom system by the principal. The story remains a conspiracy to this day.
Thank you for this worthy story in a poem.

Rmocruz: thank you for reading and commenting. Actually, I have written 4 or 5 poems to cover the entire situation. They are posted here. Linda

Linda,
Your summary in poetry was excellent. You elegantly and poetically captured the various moments of this tragic event in your verse.
I was in a class when someone ran by the open window and shouted "Kennedy was shot." Of course, at first, many of us thought it was just a college prank. An hour or so later, the reality set in. Then we were transfixed by the drama shown over and over again on the TV.
You reminded me of the horror of those days in November 1963 where our country's Camelot era came crashing down.
Very nice presentation throughout.

This was an excellent description of the emotions of that terrible event --I was thirteen at the time and watched it as it unfolded on tv --I still bear the scars of that traumatic moment and continually question what might have been, could have been, should have been in the world--I think we all lost our naivety somewhat, and our sense of fairness to life
Thank you for this enjoyable read --it was thought provoking and I wouldn't change anything
All the Best!

You deliver a beautifully penned expression of what the world felt the day we held our breath in sadness at such a senseless and untimely loss to humanity. Your piece is poignant and compelling and will certainly strike a strong emotional chord with all who loved and admired this fallen man of peace. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

God, I remeber where I was when the news came through. I was a little too young to realise the importance of what had happened, but the reactions of the adults made me realise that something serious was wrong. I think I may have cried I was so scared. You have brought it all flooding back and thats what good poetry does. Well done and thanks.

An horrific day. I was in first grade, our teacher came into the room weeping and near histeria herself. We were dismissed[after being told] I remember children running and some screaming. There was a sense of a death mall over the whole nation.Terrible day. Ripped the heart of our nation open. Your poem captured the emotions of the day well.
