Hi there,

I enjoyed reading your best short poem.

The faith of love blooms high this day
As Birds on wing do hail

It says so much in so few words, with an amazing picture and a lovely message. I love the way you've crafted your two lines poem creating a flow of words and images. Great entry. Thank you for sharing, and good luck in the contest.

Warmest wishes,
tati, May 21, 2010

This is a beautifully written so short poem. The photo adds so much to the story you've written in your two lines, that it wouldn't be complete without it. Well done.

So few words, yet what poignancy in this simple poem. Liked the capitalized Birds. Somehow, it pulled the verses together.

Well done!

Very good short poem. Good writing prompt contest entry. The photo reminds me of one of my mother many years ago. Good luck in the contest.

Well written. The emotion and essense of trust in the love of one's life, is beautifully displayed. Sometimes it is best said within the confines of just one well crafted line. Good job.

To me the poem depicts a young lady anxious to meet a lover full of expectation.Someone who has been away for a long time, maybe he was in the war. She reminds me of a wartime bride. The picture tells all. I liked the poem.

Poet,
Outstanding short love poem. Awesome old photo you used. I'm impressed in so fee words you've written a beautifully emotional poem. I love the lines:

This is a charming picture that of itself says it must have been about the time you have labeled it (1946). The poem is a bit mysterious, but I'm guessing the Birds on wing might be a pilot returning from the war? Best wishes, Jeanie Mercer
