I'm glad you gave Author Notes because otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue what the poem is about. I don't really like all the 'l' words as I think it's a bit much to read, although I guess they are probably very cleverly thought out.

Fascinating poem. I like all the L sounds. Then the resurrection, which made me think of Christ and the blood of resurrection. The two images were at odds in my head. Nicely done.

A pop-culture phenomenon, these days with some people acting out as vampires & others really playing the part, & actually getting fangs to enhance this creepy craving for human blood...Your poem fits the criteria, for what a vampire desires, & too can somehow feel the rebirth or resurrection from being one, & the only way that he or she, as known from legend, can survive, is to indulge....

This is a most interesting write. The phrase, life-liquor conjures up the essence of blood, does it not? And then of course the issue of a resurrection of this type means that there is a satanic influence involves, which is best to stay clear of on many levels.

This is a fascinating subject, and it is one that has been in the imagination sine the earliest of times. Ancient man wrote many things about vampires. The subject was brought to the world's attention by the Irish writer, Bram Stoker, and the stories seem to be as immortal as the vampires themselves.
