This is a sad situation. However, your words are true. All we can do is accept things and "move on." A true lifetime love is a very hard thing to find these days. Bill

Show me a man that hasn't been stung
By his mate. His minizter.
His best friend.
Show me a woman not smitten
Sshow me a child without pai
Sshow me a love did not end
In the drain
And I'll call you a lucky man.Z.

So honest. Almost brutally honest. But with that little ray of hope that makes it bearable. As it is with all lost love. this poem captures the feeling of that loss perfectly.

Such a sad poem and written in a resolute voice. It is a true loss when relationships end and should be mourned as any other loss.

I particularly like the artwork you picked to accompany the poem. It has the same sense of romantic sadness pictured by your words.

A loved lost, no lost love! In a simple form done freely without obscuring rules, this poem delivered your poignant message, yet without ambiguity.

This is a very concise free verse poem of the sad end of a relationship. I like the internal rhyme of game and fame five.
I like the ready set go line about getting out of this coupling and finding another in time.

Keep writing

Truly sad, GW, when a long-term relationship sees fit to call it quits. Love is such a rare commodity these days, it seems.

I take this as not only a tenderly written free verse on lost love, but as a sort of cautionary warning, as well. If you have love, and you're flippant about it or take it for granted, something had better change if you wish to keep a hold on it. A neglected heart can turn cold very quickly

Great work...

Hello Deepwater,
Nice piece of poetry beautifully depicting 'what we have now, sooner or later, that is bound to go and we should face the situation bravely.
Impressive wording with smooth flow and lively imagery.
Good alliteration as friends / fame.

A very succinctly written poem about the eventual admission that the love has burnt out of the relationship and that for however long it had only remained as a show for others and that now the couple had finally gotten fed up of even that aspect and pulled the chain on it.
