Excellent visual and imagery. Reading actually made me hungry especially the mention of lemon chiffone cake, love lemon cake and cookies. I also liked the mention of the stars and how they triggered your childhood memories. Very good job.

You did a great job of capturing your memories of your favorite old eatery. I liked the details in the presentation such as the "melting" font effect. Color in the text - red hot dogs, red tour buses, "yeller girl" also added to imagery created by your words.

What lovely memories this relates to one who is envious of such a place to dine. I found myself relishing (no pun intended) the hot dogs and my mouth started to water. Great writing, here, poet, and how well you describe.

You have definitely written an original "Ode" poem. I would have never thought about writing one about a hot dog stand, yet you made it work, and work well. I am sorry your mum couldn't have been with you. It sounds like you had a good day though. Your poem if well written, and your authors notes are very informative. you may want to fix this line....
"I wrote this ode to my favorite hot dog stand while I sat on a red stood on the Hollywood Walk of Fame"
I think you mean stool instead of stood.
Great contest entry. Good luck in the contest.

Your well penned memoir of Skooby's hot dog stand ,written in the form of a poem, takes me back to my teen years. Like how your memories included your Mom-Yeller Gal's lemon treats. Good luck in the contest.

Beautiful description of wonderful memories. For some reason I'm craving hot dogs and fries. And, of course, Mama's meringue pie. Mouth watering, stomach growling it's time to go find a snack. I loved the trip down memory lane and such a great story behind it all.

An interesting mix of ode to a fast food stand and memories, that also serves as a useful travel tip if I ever make it to LA!
Particularly like the last verse.
Good luck in the contest.

This place sounds like a must visit to someone in the Hollywood area. I've never been to the west coast but it does sound like a treat.
Nice job with the spacing of eating the hot dogs and ice melting.
The author's note were helpful in giving background.
Best to you with having your poem published.

Thank you. Rubylou, for your kind review. This was originally a spoken word poem. I adapted the words to approximate how I pronounced them in my performance. Thus, I added pauses for each word of "one at a time" and I extended the letter "m" for "mmmelt" and diminished the fonts. Thank you for wishing me good luck for my poem's publication.
