This would be terrifying indeed. Makes you wonder what those sounds really are that you hear in the dark, especially when you are all alone? Too bad this site has its 2 posts a day rule. Know the reason for it, but, some writers should be allowed to post more than that. The dripping water sound in this post is EERIE!

What a shame about the contest! Seems you may have been railroaded my friend! Spectacular piece you have brilliantly crafted my friend. Not sure, but it seems you may have meant Faucet instead of Facet in the 3rd line.
God bless Dean!

I'd move out
Immediately!
And avoid baths for a long time
Showers will do just fine
Well written and well dripped
And I always thought it would be nice to visit Paris
in the Spring, now I've second thoughts
Maybe the desert, arid and waterless
Typo in para. 2 [faucet]
I saw your entry listed in the contest
Good luck, my friend

You would think so, right, RS? But curiosity often gets the best of us, as does pride. We think we can conquer anything because that's how most of us are programmed to think. However, you and I both know what happened to the cat when curiosity took hold, don't we? That "need to know" compulsion is such a compelling one...
Thanks so much for the positive comments.

I missed you, Dean! Nice to see you back again. This is of course, right up your street, and it says at the bottom that it is in fact entered in the contest. I think you have done a great job with this one, I don't think I would go near that bathroom, I would buy some extra deodorant! Good luck, my friend! xsx Sandra

Don't draw a bath or if you do, just not up to the nostrils. Those worn washers that lead to the drip that keeps you up at night- time to change them. Water-boarded seems a little out of place, injects other issues into the story. And how would he know how a water-boarded voice sounds. Then again, it makes for an interesting backstory. Welcome back.

That's the idea, Ed, the "back story", as you put it. Everyone has one. We just don't always like or need to hear it.
    Thanks for the review, buddy.

I don't understand why the site keeps giving you such a hard time, Dean.
Another contest bites the dust.
I guess you'll have to stick to one post per twenty-four hours just to be safe.

I jumped when I opened this up to read it. I wasn't ready for the phone. lol
This fellow needs to move--no bath, no dinner, no sitting down--out the door right now!

Like in all the horror movies. They hear a creepy noise in the basement and do they call 911? Hell no. They grab a wannabe weapon and go on down. lol

Yep, except for that one boy in the film "SCREAM". He had the do's and don'ts of horror films down to a science, ha-ha...
reply by barkingdog on 14-Sep-2015
Sorry, I don't remember the boy in 'Scream'. Did he run?
When they run they usually run directly into a knife, down a well or a snare trap.
reply by the author on 14-Sep-2015
No, he didn't need to run. He avoided all of the traditional pitfalls that stupid teens and adults so often fall into in horror films at all costs. He even had a list of what not to do...

    1) DO NOT HAVE SEX OUT OF WEDLOCK

    2) NEVER SAY, "I'll be right back", UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

    3) NEVER PARTAKE IN ILLEGAL DRUG ACTIVITY

    4) DO NOT ENTER A DARK CELLAR, BASEMENT OR ATTIC ALONE AFTER HEARING STRANGE NOISES.

    Things like that... :}

I DO remember the list. I haven't seen 'Scream' in such a long time.

Hah, yeah, nothing in my life is what one would call "sweet", Ingrid. Dealing with real, honest to goodness editors is a royal pain in the you-know-what, and I've been doing a LOT of that lately.
As for the forums, I generally avoid them like the Black Plague, lol.
Thank you for the sixer (my first in a long, long time), and for reading my shortie. I appreciate you & your opinions, as always.
