That narration really added another layer to admire in this piece; I'm very glad I opted to listen as well as read. You managed to match the pulsing of the staring skull with a throb in the audio - impressive presentation, as always. CtVR

I felt as if the setting was in the deep everglades? A ghostly presence glowing green, calling to the simple and yet she was only green. Green for go, she'll make you stare - aghast! Another winner for the underground baddies. Thanks for scaring. XX

Hi Dean,
great stuff and again the presentation is cool.
I think we should all at some point write a spooky poem. It blows away the cobwebs and gets them there demons out your head.
As always a good read.

I agree, Brenda. I saw where you have written one recently yourself...Demons, I believe it's titled?
    A potlatch entry, no doubt.
I'll be sure to read it, and thank you for reading my poem.

Andre, you know better than to read dark poems before bedtime. Your poem is so well written, that it drew me in. I just finished a jog over a bridge. I took off my headphones to listen to the frogs down below. I admire this them from the distance, but I would never "stroll along a murky, mossy knoll" at night. Your poem taps into the universal fear of the unknown and of ghosts.

Thank you for sharing. Pleasant dreams, indeed.

    Hahaha...
You can stroll along a mossy knoll all you like, Andre. Just be sure to do it in the daytime, LOL.
Thanks so much for review AGHAST. I sincerely appreciate your comments.
    Take care...

OOo creepy and so much moreso with the artistic font and image. I feel this poem alludes to the captivating power of a woman, one that draws the subject in with her possessive powers, only to bring his demise.
Thank you for sharing.

You would be dead-on in that assessment/interpretation, Jo.
    No puns intended, heh-heh.

Good Evening, Darlin'

Mmmm... I had to listen to this poem a few times. I love the way you recite your poem. The rhythm in your voice, it's almost like a song and I don't mean the crickets. I am sorry. I don't mean to take away from your beautiful and well-written octogram, I am just really into recording my voice. It's a lot of fun, now I want to do it every time I read, I mean if it has a good flow. Yours does.

I appreciate the intricacy of an octogram and I admire the people that can write them. To me, just looking at the rhyme and meter scheme gives me a headache. But I am taking a class on meter so there is hope for me yet. LoL

I like the way I can hear the heartbeat when you read ''...your heart leap in your throat....'' and also the echo.

The background sounds of the swamp are nice, I think I will play this poem all night long. LoL

Your presentation is eerie and well put together, but not overpowering the sound. You wanted the sound to be the media. And you achieved that goal.

Excellent!

No worries, Dean, I know you have a million fans and it must be an 8 to 5 job just keeping up with your darn PM box. My heart goes to you.

You know I am a good friend and I am willing to help you out so send over a couple hundred fans and I'll take real good care of them. Yup. Nah, just kidding. I don't even have quite 100 yet and it takes me a long time to clear my box, and I hate messy things.

Luv ya and that beautiful big red heart of yours. I like the way it beats so proud. :)

Hey! I got a little present for your mini-muse. I hope he likes it. LOL

A well-written scary Octogram. The moss and rotting logs makes the heart beating faster. Her touch is deadly like poison oak, get out of there quickly.

Whoa what an exceptional presentation Dean. I really love the font as it has a greenish glow and sets the mood perfectly.

Perfect meter and rhyme and of course delightfully scary. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Great job with your Octogram. :))
