I found this gruesome. I am not a fan of learning different death rituals, I am much more interested in life and learning techniques. Furthermore, we are surrounded by enough death at the moment that I can't absorb any more.

There is so much here to think and comment. First, the beginning I was watching someone comment on TV about not wearing a mask and she was cavalier that if she dies she die. Sorry lady, you are right in that dying can be a messy business. There is not always a "happy death" I was lucky in that my dad passed away peacefully, but not his mom.
My aunt died a few months ago and had prearranged everything so it was easy since she had no children. But to make your arrangements a mission is a little different.
Your own planning here to be in remembrance seems very warm and respectful.
Enjoyed your writing and thoughts. It is complicated and very personal to your beliefs.

Mistakes I found, "just wants to sleep because is very tired.", change to just wanted to because she was very tired
"I think in a way we are close to the ancient Pharos", if you mean the Egyptian pharaohs it is spelled as shown here
"My grandparents bought everything that was needed for the funeral, all the clothing, shoes and left a note for each towel that supposed to go to a certain person and priest and to the people who were going to carry their coffin to the cemetery.", put the word was in front of the word supposed
The Lord led me to this verse after I read this,
Isaiah 26:3
New King James Version
3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

Hi, my friend!
It is a hard situation to be in. I was with both of my parents the night before they passed away. (Mom passed away in 1978 and Daddy in 1999.)
It was a blessing that they both died at home and we were able to be there, but it was also one of the hardest things I've done.
Anyhow, to the piece:
Trust me is not a beautiful scene. >> You need some kind of punctuation between 'Trust me' and the remainder of the sentence. An ellipse or en dash would be perfect to set them apart. 'it's not a beautiful scene' instead of 'is not a beautiful scene.'
The sentence that starts 'First she refused to eat'' begins in the past tense (refused) but ends in the present tense (wants to sleep...is very tired). It all needs to be past tense, so change 'wants' to 'wanted' and 'is' to 'was'. Then you're golden! :)
Then she stopped to talk. >> stopped talking?
has got the answer >> had gotten the answers to all of her prayers. >> and so she had, Iza.
put a picture with no date of course. >> put a picture (either 'up' or 'on it') with no date(,) of course.
Pharos >> What an interesting observation! I"m not sure that's spelled correctly, but I'm actually not sure how to spell it! lol
What interesting traditions!
People will might not >> I'd leave 'will' out of this
My oldest son (probably about your age) tells me that people die twice: once when their soul leaves their body and once when their name is mentioned for the very last time. It's kind of sad to me to think of that. So I tell my kids/grandkids stories of my parents and grandparents whenever I can.
I think you'll find peace if you have a relationship with Jesus, Iza. Not just rituals, but a relationship that's akin to a friendship here on Earth, with the people around us. We talk to them; we pray and listen to Him. We spend time with our friends; we need to spend time in His word and in fellowship with other believers. And then, when we pass from this life to the next, we are already at peace with God thru Jesus. There's no need for anything else. But I love the traditions! They are so much cooler than ours. It's a way to give back in their name and honor their legacy. So neat. Thank you for sharing!
Blessings and still praying for God's comfort for you and your family,
Deb

It's a great piece that speaks of our cultural rituals surrounding death, and how they are upended by the epidemic. It is interesting to see these different rituals from other cultures, but also how some strands of these rituals are similar to our own rituals. For instance, this thing with food. There is the ritual of giving gift baskets of fruit at funerals, similar to your own rituals surrounding food. At the center of it is this idea that life somehow continues on after death, in a spiritual form. It is hard for us to imagine the world without us, to imagine ourselves at never having 'been' or what the world might be without us. Yet we also find it hard to imagine life going on forever. Deep questions. estory

Thank you for sharing your Romanian traditions with us. I think the koliva must be like the Russian kutya. As a writer, you have your works for your readers to remember you by. Even if we don't follow all the traditions, God will bring you to mind to all the people whose lives you touched.
Then she stopped to talk. (she stopped talking.) To say, "she stopped to talk" gives one the impression she was going somewhere but she stopped to have a conversation.
suggestion:
"my one year father memorial and my grandmother six month memorial."
my father's one year memorial and my grandmother's six month memorial
"close to the ancient Pharos. " (Pharaohs)

Wow, Iza. I had no idea of the deep Romanian rituals of the weaving of the living with the rituals for the dead... this has been a fascinating read for me, my lady! And although our rituals are not nearly as prolonged down here, we do have them.... and in reading your last paragraph there, I can feel the pain in your pen in wondering for your soul to find peace... here to tell you, Iza, even if it be ten, fifteen or more years, if I knew you had made your final journey, I would start with the water cup, my lady, and honor each of the days forward... ;) :) :) Yes, life and death are certainly matters of complication and contemplation...
