This nonet, Carpe Diem, has the proper nine to one descending syllable formatting and places the reader in the story that requires a starting point. The time to become something begins with every second that passes.
Note: Is the repetition on line one intentional? It did catch my attention as possibly being so.

Your poem has strong metaphors that will draw the reader in and who will identify. I like the sensory images. You appeal to several senses. Also, you vowel sounds become onomatopoetic. Well done.

My only suggestion is to centre the text, as my guess is the Committee might look at that.

The gift of time is what we all wish we have to hold and not to lose, Sally. I've lost so much time in doing nothing. Sometimes I feel that it flies by with the speed of light. Today is Friday and yesterday, for me, was Wednesday. I've been busy living day by day. With the Lord's help, I have survived. This is a good offering for the Nonet Poetry Contest.
