That is quite an interesting perspective. For years I would have humbugged...but then I was introduced to a family of an aide who used to work here and they had me out for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. Now they have invited me for Christmas eve and I am so thankful - they are great folks. I am tickled by your comparing a paycheck to Christmas...
