Your story captures the heartbreaking stories you see every night on the news.
Very powerfully told.
Congratulations on winning. You certainly deserved the win.
Best wishes and regards,
Mary

I like your story. Ukraine has much destruction occurring. This morning I saw on the news where hospitals were bombed. Babies were kept there for care. Is the madman not going to stop this bombing?

Your story is powerfully told. Through the eyes of a child, definitely - and showing her distress and confusion as well as insight into the feelings of so many others. Best wishes for your clever, relevant, and skilfully told story.

This story, At the Station, approximately 400 words, is so very timely and captures this moment in time of such great upheaval. The narrator's level of speech and world knowledge may exceed what a child might actually know or feel, but the sentiment is certainly shared universally.

Thanks for reviewing. Yes, I've put my own thoughts into the child's mouth, but perhaps we can give her credit for being well read from all those visits to the city library before it got bombed.

Let*s do that.

Well written. Well told.
Putin is a monster. He lies about everything.
The Ukranian people, even those escaping, are justifiably proud people. What is happening is a travesty.
Thank you for writing. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent entry for the Through the eyes of a child writing prompt contest.
The story is heartbreaking because it's really happening to many Ukrainians children. They are the harder to watch. Poor sweet angels.
Well done. Good luck in the contest.

I like how you personalized the horrifying situation in Ukraine through the eyes of Galyna. Great job looking up the meanings of names and the chant to honor Ukraine and her heroes! The name Strelka means arrow so it fits with a dog that can't stay still!
Best wishes in the contest!

Very heartfelt and gives a
child's view of the war. Can't
even imagine being in a war
zone as a child, how awful. Warmest wishes, and you've
penned a gem. ~

It is sad to hear that all of this is going on in a part of our world. It's equally sad that children have to endure pain inflicted upon them as a result of what our adults are doing. God bless this child and family, other children and their families and everyone who is in war torn countries who are effected by war. I like this poem because it's about what's going on in our world but in the end I'm happy that the little dog returns to the child unharmed.
