I read your notes and also found your poem interesting. Muslims do believe in Jesus.
The Quran and Islamic teachings have a lot of positive things to say about Jesus. Muslims must believe in and respect all of the prophets in order to be counted as true believers. This means Adam, Noah, Moses, and Jesus.

Yes, they do, and esteem Him as a prophet, but not as God?s Son or Saviour through His death and resurrection. Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. Much appreciated.

This poem, Fast Then Feast, gives all the readers an opportunity to get a glimpse of this cultural tradition hat many don't know about.

Your poem is very well written, great rhyming, and gives us a picture of how the Muslims celebrate Ramadan. I admire you for being considerate of the people's customs when you live in their country. Thank you so much for sharing.

I entered this contest too, although I am also not Muslim. I enjoyed your poem very much, and I actually learned something from your notes, too, and it's greatly appreciated. (I have some stomach issues when I don't eat often throughout the day. :) Dates, huh? Yum!)
Good luck in the contest!

Hi Dawn,
Good luck to you too for the contest! I am glad you enjoyed my poem - thanks so much for reviewing it! I appreciate it. Saudi dates are very rich and creamy - so delicious. Taste plus energy (probably calories too!)

I could do without the calories, but they sound like the kind of thing I should snack on when I don't prepare proper meals. Thanks much! :)

You did a great job. I know someone who is Muslim and follows this belief.
It was nice to respect the religion, not to eat in public. There were things that had pork cooked in them, and I made sure not to serve pork to him. I respected my daughters boyfriend's religion totally. I enjoyed reading your post and feeling your kindness.

This is a very astute poem, keenly perceptive and discerning.
-Each stanza depicts a Core value, or requirement while respecting diversity.
-Well crafted poem.
-In celebration of the intentions of the month of Ramadan and of the pillars of faith that are reinforced by generosity, compassion and peace.
-Thirty days of fasting has great rewards, it would seem from your poem, and is quite a feat.
Have a nice day.

When living in another country you have to respect their customs, although not everyone is as considerate as you here. I enjoyed your well rhymed poem about Ramadan where eating patterns change and I would probably lose weight if I obeyed these rules! Love Dolly x
