The author's words are sad, thought provoking, heartfelt, descriptive and creative. I pondered on how the author's words were a reminder to the reader that the Savior's faith never lacked. The words flow and connect well. The artwork is perfect and goes well with the theme and words of
this poem. Great Poem!

Painful imagery, so sad. It seems you were as good then as you are now. Excellent entry for the --Show us MORE of Your Early Poetry writing prompt contest--
It's easy to place myself in your Jesus death and resurrection
Good luck,
Gypsy
Well done!

Thank you for the fantastic review, Gypsy. I've picked up a few things along the way, like how to use the word 'seen' correctly. Lol. I really appreciate the stars and kind words, G. Have a great rest of your weekend and thank you again.

Not one of, but THE most riveting event in all of man kind's history was the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Your words clearly profile the event and force us all to think about who he really was.
Very nice.

Thirty some years ago. You already wrote well, although you have grown in strength since. If this was typical of your early works, you have also grown in the originality of your approach. This is good, but I prefer reading what you write now. Kate xx

Thank you so much for the gracious review and kind words, Kate. Yes, I'd like to believe I've grows as a writer from way back then. That was back before I even gave thought to poetry but I guess that and song writing is pretty well the same. I dearly appreciate it, Kate. Thank you again.

How fortunate the world is that our God is a loving and forgiving God. If he were as mortals are, there would be no one left alive. I struggle to forgive someone who offends me by their review comments. Imagine how I would feel if someone were to mistreat my son like this. It would not be pretty or nice. Good write. I too used to write songs, most of my lyrics have morphed into poems.

We seem to have ploughed a similar furrow. I wrote a lot of lyrics and eventually some music too. My stuff was mainly humorous and all of it was in the folk idiom. I never went down the religious road and then I found FanStory and dug up all my book learning from way back. Funny how things work out.

Yes it is. I was surprised at some of the stuff I found written a million years ago. It brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for the great review and stars, friend.

If you've read my profile, you would know I was a songwriter long before I was aware of being a poet, but the two can't really live without one another, the word is the message and the music is the vehicle I've had 36 songs, two albums and numerous singles professionally recorded, countless others written and performed, this is extremely well written, you probably didn't have to repeat the chorus, but brilliant enactment of the crucifixion, the important this is looks like a song, poets quite often can't relate, blessings Roy

I don't know how old you were when you wrote these words/song lyrics, but I found them very insightful, poignant, and powerful. Very very impressive. You captured some of the horror of the crucifixion (who can fully understand it?), and your words to Pilate are in fact words to each of us. Very thought-provoking.

Hey, Wendy, hello. I was around 22 or 23 when I wrote this. I use to go for the scared straight tactic of leading people in the right direction. Nowadays, I rarely put as much effort in stuff I write. I dearly appreciate the gracious sixer and kind words, Wendy. I'm glad you liked the piece. Have yourself a wonderful weekend and thank you again.

This is brutal and it was hard to finish reading but you did a great job waaaaaay back when while you wrote this. I was never this deep into religion 35 years ago, so I think it's cool that as a young man you were focused in this way. It definitely has a rhythm to the lines and stanzas and it was interesting to me that this was a song you wrote. Great job and I think anybody who enters this contest is just flat out brave. My earlier crap is just that...crap. lol Well done. Lynda

Wow, thank you so much for the awesome review and giant six, Lynda. Oh, I'm sure your writes back then weren't crap. I was surprised at some of the stuff I found that I wrote way back then. Just as twisted as some of the stuff I write now. Lol. I really appreciate the generous stars, Lynda. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again.

This is impressive. You have a great song, and it is so sad. I flinched as I read the lyrics. I do not understand how someone could be so heartless. Beating someone as they did Jesus. Thank you for sharing. Have a great evening.
