This is an excellent poem, most importantly for the truth presented, for the story, for poem construction, and most of all, for the wonderful inspiration and encouragement. It more than fulfills the contest requirement.

First of all, I see your name is the same as mine, only mine is spelled Debra.
This is gorgeous! So beautifully written and His Word and Truth accentuated in such an eloquent poem. Truly inspirational and I am sure will touch many hearts!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem with us. Please accept my virtual six stars. I wish I had a real one to give.

Thank you so much -- I'm honored, Debra.

There is so much to love about this piece but none more than the Savior Himself. Your choice of picture, framework, font type nails it. Maybe one size larger would help the sight-impaired, and let me end asking why you wrote one stanza ending "to Man. With final breath,? It sits oddly.

Ah, thanks for asking, Tom -- in poetry, there is something called 'enjambment', which means the line carries into the next one -- the next stanza, in this case. On FanStory, we write the stanzas with space in between, so for poets without knowledge about enjambment, it can appear to "sit oddly". But in fact, if you recite the poem aloud, you will see that it doesn't. :)
Thank you for reviewing. :)

Wow, this is such a beautiful poem! I can't get over how beautiful it is. I can tell of your love for our Savior. I too, love him and all that he did for us. He is our friend and older brother, he conquered all. I wish you success in all you do.

How could I not give this a six. It's the story of the Bible and the TRUE Story of Christmas in one amazing poem. I cannot recall ever hearing, and I spent my formative years being bulldozered with this story from well-intentioned and brain-washed Nuns. God rest their souls.
Dear writer, this idea is indeed a gem, as are you.

What amazing comments! It's a word sometimes overused, but I truly am honored. Thank you also for the generous rating. I am overjoyed!

Beautiful poem with a strong message of faith. You've included a lot of good theology in your words. I like the rhymes you've chosen also, and enjoyed the Sam Cooke song. Best wishes in the contest. Carol

Great poem for the contest. It expresses a living faith in God and Christ's work on earth. A nicely crafted poem and for straightforward expression of your beliefs.

Dawn, this is just so marvelous and I am sick that I do not have a six for you today. Your spiritual poetry has been so wonderful. I have deeply enjoyed all of them and the songs that you provided as well. I have seen the Winans in concert both CeCe and BeBe. Thank you, again! A blessing. Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the contest,

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I, too, am amazed at how many people reject God. It doesn't make sense to me. Even back in Biblical times, people who met Jesus didn't believe. I don't get that. I enjoyed reading and wish you luck with the contest.

This is a powerful poem which reminds the readers that we are given a choice and an example to choose. Life with or without Godas a friend, redeemer, and guide is unimaginable to those who have known both worlds.
