The word count is correct; the image and words make the verse so meaningful. We can relate to this when the lights go out we need light and courage to see our path.

Such powerfully expressed phrasing in so few words. An excellent contender for the contest. The illuminated lantern lends itself perfectly to the poem's message. Best of luck.

This is a wonderful poem and it conveys so much truth in so few words. I like your chosen image, as well. It reminds me of a poster I might have put up in my dorm room, back in the day Lovely. Good luck in the contest.

I like this so much! What a great philosophy to have, as we face the shadowed places in our lives. It does take courage to keep pushing ahead, even when we can't see what lies before us. The light that comes from courage will not be visible unless we do keep going. This is a wise a wonderful little poem. Best of luck in the contest. MM

This is a good 2-6-2 poem. The text is great size. I like it centered because it is more prominent. The message is brief but clearly stated. It is still also poetic. Great use of personification for courage. The visual fits perfectly. Good luck in the contest.

Comment from Brett Matthew West
In "life's darkest shadows" courage can be almost impossible to find.
However, stepping up, overcoming those fears, and getting past them does indeed "give light" to those situations.
Lots of motivational uplifting in this poem.
