Hey Bill, this was a funny entry and certainly deserved recognition. A good play on 'chicken'. I have been a bit remiss in not reading more of your work. You are always good for a laugh or serious study.

Excellent entry for the 5-7-5 Poem Contest.
LoL this one is funny.
I like the presentation too. Concrete images easy to visualize.
Good syllables count and connection between lines.
Good luck in the contest.

I like this entry in this 5/7/5 poetry contest, it says so much in so few words. Indeed it's laced with good humour, as we've humanised this Mantis, brilliantly dine my friend, good luck, blessings Roy

Oh!! Ugh! EWWWWWW!!
But, also, HAHAHAHAHA!! Is that kind of like a theme-and-variation on the human comment: about frog's legs tasting like chicken? [which always makes me say, "So then, just eat freakin chicken!"]
Anyway, this DEFINITELY stands out from the other entries, which is, of course, the road to victory. I hope it's yours. Good luck.

Hahaha. It's the risk you were willing to take, I guess. I, for one, am glad you did. It brought me a good laugh...well, you know, after I quelled my gag reflex. Where in the world did you find that PHOTO??!!

That is dreadful, but very well written, and a good picture too. Reminds me of the joke about opening a pot of butter and seeing the face of Jesus etched in it. I said, 'I can't believe it's not Buddha'.

The illustration draws me in from the beginning. I like how you thing outside the box and use an unusual topic on which to base your poem.
Well composed and fantastic presentation. Jacqueline

This is a very well written 5-7-5 poem you have penned for the writing prompt contest. You used very good descriptive words and very neat imagery from the art work you chose. It did make me sad that the poor little moth was getting eaten up! Best wishes in the contest. Teri
