This is a great use of metaphor! You made poverty into a plant that is fed through the roots and stems by the greed of corporations. I would think that the petals of the poverty plant would grow well and the weed of poverty would take over the other flowers.
Best wishes in the contest!

This 5-7-5, Greed Starves Need, has the proper formatting and makes me want to go on a killing spree until all the greed is gone. I may have to pack a lunch.

This was cleverly done. I recommend Pinterest as a free picture spot. They have millions of pictures to use for free for mentioning them in your authors notes. They have more than any other spot. Karen

Great comparison of poverty with the growing of the plant of greed which with increased growth destroys the leaves and results in petals falling. The innocent victims of greed. Well done.

All children deserve a good family and safe environment with enough food, clothes, and love. It breaks my heart to see poor children struggling just to eat and a roof over their heads, essentially iin war zones.
Excellent 5-7-5 Poem with good syllables count and connection between lines. I like the presentation too.

A wonderful, but sad, commentary on the need to care for those in dire circumstances. Especially the young ones. Food insecurity is real. But greed turns a blind eye. Thank you for this timely reminder

Hi Kahpot
Nice5/7/5. The young petals are symbolic for young people who suffer due to greed from global warning factory safety. The greed of the rich always harms the rest of us
We'll done

I think I've used that self same artwork, but in fact the original photo of those dear children cold and clinging to one another, with the riches God has bestowed on mankind one would think there was plenty to go around, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Those people who are filled with the need to be greedy are never happy, it becomes an obsession to want more. A poignant write, love Dolly x x x x

This is a great 5-7-5- though a sad message The imagery of a plant to get your point across works so well. The petals falling is heartbreaking when you think of the children suffering. Well done.
