I never thought of it before that Saturday is the only day of the week that has three syllables. All of the rest of the days only have two syllables. I wish you the very best in the contest. Patricia . By the way, you have spelt wrong in your title.

The title has a two-syllable spelling.

I don't know if I can come up with the required syllable count for a legal review. But while you are about fixing Saturday, could you squeeze Wednesday in? It needs some serious work.

I agree, though I think it is pronounced with two syllables, it needs rethinking.

Author,
Great poem for pondering some angle that others have missed. There could be a lot of reasons Saturday has three syllables, perhaps because it is a day of activities that can't be done on other days that are busy.
Excellent poem.
Good luck with your five line poem.

An excellent entry for the 5 line poem writing prompt. This poem brings a question that has long been asked in the privacy of our homes. It is time to bring it out in the open and address the travesty! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Marilyn, for chiming in on this syllabic conservation issue.

This was a great entry for the 5 line poem contest. You got the syllable count right, and you brought up a great point. I never realized that about the syllables in the days of the week. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Make a note: It started here.

Funnily enough, that was always my image of Saturday - long and multi-coloured, like a row of beads. It is different from the other days of the week, and that's fine.

Oh yes we must fix this?!! Who invented this silly day, it doesn't look or sound like the others! What next? Match every month so they have the same amount of syllables? It never ends!
