You have got a great memory and you describe things so well, I feel like I am right there experiencing it. For a six year old that would have been a very exciting trip. i wouldn't have been able to sleep either. Very interesting. thanks for sharing.

Good continuation of the story, Beth, chronicling your first adventure on a train. I got a real kick out of the soldiers that sat with you and your Mom. You could feel her discomfiture, but she seemed to make the best of it without embarrassment or harsh words. Everything is such an experience to young children.

Thank you Jim, The train ride was quite an experience for me as was the earlier ride in the airplane. Anything different is exciting for a child.

Necessary very well written story that you've told us about your train ride to Texas. It sounds like it was a very nice thing to do even though you were not wanting to get up so early in the morning and I enjoyed listening to it very much. it flows very well when it is ready aloud have a good week and may God bless you. Travelling by train is exciting, but being woken early when you want to continue to sleep is a bit distressing for a 6 year old. This sounds like a long journey across county as it took all day and you arrived at night. A fine memory here Beth, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. Today it wouldn't take nearly so long. Trains are faster and they don't stop and every little town along the way like they once did.

Thank you Joann. I was only six. When I was fourteen, I had an encounter with one of mom's brothers. When I told my mother he tried something, she didn't want to believe. Thanks for reading my story.

Elaine and I had a great time travelling in trains through Eastern Europe into Ukraine, the Crimean peninsula into Russia from the old Yugoslavia, in all we spent something like about a week and a half on trains, just loved it, so I made the whole trip with you, well done Beth,, blessings Roy

Elaine and I had a great time travelling in trains through Eastern Europe into Ukraine, the Crimean peninsula into Russia from the old Yugoslavia, in all we spent something like about a week and a half on trains, just loved it, so I made the whole trip with you, well done Beth,, blessings Roy
