You referenced ax only once and I'm trying to understand how an ax fits in this poem. I guess it is symbolic for letting down your guard so that others can get through to you
Although this is a Rictameter, it has no rhyme or set meter. Hard to do in such a short poem and totally irrelevant anyway

Thank you. Often, we do not need to split or splinter an object with an ax. A more subtle approach might do more good.
