Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I have often wondered what causes them to twist and turn. I enjoyed reading this entry and want to wish you luck with the contest.

What a cool interpretation of a bonsai tree: a road less traveled. Very cool slant, and a well-developed haiku with proper formatting from start to finish. Good luck with the contest! xo

Excellent haiku for the haiku contest. I used to have a bonsai tree and I enjoyed it for years. Sadly it was damaged in our most recent move.
Beautiful picture.
Blessings

Nice haiku. You had the balance, the nature image, and a great epiphany moment. Here the twisted tree stands for a unique experience of life, and we can extrapolate that to be a symbol of individuals living their lives. estory

Amazing writing! I absolutely love a good haiku! Life is a series of twists and turns, I believe, and I certainly relate to the road less traveled. In reading your notes, I am sorry for your pain. Many days when my arthritis is acting up, I dictate (talk to text) on my phone. Maybe that will help. Don't give up writing. You are good at it. Write about your experiences, write how you feel. There are others who need to know they are not alone. Thank you again for the haiku!

Thank you so much Karen! So glad you liked it! I have to learn how to talk to text on my phone. I love writing haiku. They help calm me. I took some haiku classes years ago here on FS. under a different name
They are not as easy to write as they appear.
Thanks again

A lot of emotion conveyed with very few words, this is a great Haiku in my opinion. I think this a wonderful metaphor for our lives, whether deliberate or not doesn't matter. Well done.

Hello Katiemae,
You've written and excellent haiku for the contest
with very good imagery and description in the first two line
along with excellent grammatical connection.
The satori line is a nice nod to Robert Frost in his poem,
"The Road not Taken".
The transcendental emphasis of the importance of nature
and individualism are also at the heart of haiku.
Nicely done.
Good luck in the contest.
Robert
