What a cool poem! It made me look up "sericulture." It fits the 5-7-5 syllable prompt, and it is about a creature found in nature, although it is also domesticated, in a way.

Amazing how much information can be conveyed even within the confines of a short format poem -as is accomplished here in this Nature 5-7-5- thanks for sharing and a great pic.

Hi

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

This is about nature for sure and it's about one of the miracles of nature when a caterpillar turns into a butterfly or a moth. I'm not sure what kind of moth. Silk worms become a moth. But they are really caterpillars

I wonder if they are killed to make silk for clothing

Yes, they are killed in the process of making the silk

Their cocoon is what makes the silk, but it has to be boiled in order for the silk
to be made so the poor caterpillar inside the cocoon gets burned to death. Boiled to death. That's sad even though it's just a caterpillar that's sad. We could use materials like cotton, but don't get killed and boiled to death

Thought provoking poem

I enjoyed reading your poem

Good job. Thank you for sharing.
