Boy, that reporter must have her ear to the ground for the latest on Miranda. Poor gal. You described her reactions perfectly. Now she hung up on Doug, it will be hard to know what to say to Waylon. I would guess much rides on how much Waylon would like to see his dad. I doubt the does.

I think Miranda is assuming a lot with Colleen Weaver. She might be stopping by for another reason. Gretchen

Poor Miranda. The day's going from bad to worse. Not only does she risk losing Waylon to his derelict father Dougie, but now there is a reporter sniffing around. What could that be about?

Miranda seems like an interesting character. Intelligent, compassionate, but not one to be taken for granted. Looking forward to hearing what happens.

Miranda is tough. But if she's in your corner, she'll do anything for you. Thank you for this. Gretchen

I hope Miranda can keep the boy and Dougie don't try to get between that. I feel bad for Miranda, something is always happening to her. Great writing. I can't wait to see what happy with Dougie and Miranda.

I don't think Miranda means to get into so much trouble but you're right she's a magnet for trouble. Your welcome 😁

So Dougie turns up like a bad smell repeating its odour, Mitch tell Miranda what she doesn't want to hear, that if Dougie wants Waylon there's little she can do about, but does Waylon want Dougie, meanwhile the pesty reporter wants an appointment, mmmh, well done Gretchen, blessings Roy

Thank you. Dougie must know something that Miranda doesn't. We shall see if he's sincere. Gretchen

Dougie is such a loser and a sorry excuse of a father. Poor Miranda needs help, it's time to be strong and prepared for what may come. Great chapter I look forward to the next.

Okay, Dougie and now Rita. Not at all good. I'm glad Miranda called Mitch. I do hope he shows up. She needs him right now, although she'd never admit it.

Mitch says nothing. I hear him exhale before he finally starts talking. "You saw him? You saw Dougie Wilcox?" (talking,)

A very helpful update here because I'd forgotten that Waylon wasn't Miranda's biological son. Miranda really is in quite a tizz and you develop this instability well here. No one is going to be able to calm her down, it seems, not even Mitch. Excellently done, Gretchen. A couple of edits below. Take care Debbie

I'm wondering is Waylon will been happy is daddy is back. Miranda is certainly not happy. I wonder if the reporter really knows he is back and that is why she wants to talk to Miranda.
I saw one tiny spag.

I roughly swipe a ear from my cheek. "Dougie." (tear)

I think Waylon will be very happy. But for how long, I don't know. Dougie, if he's up to something, will let his guard down at some point. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
I spoke to a reporter once, after I had written my first book. Whoever it was, was trying to come to a conclusion other than one that I was trying to portray. I don't like reporters. I hope that Miranda realizes that she doesn't have to speak to that gal and lets her know in no uncertain terms that she isn't going to stand for any BS. Well done gal. Have a blessed evening.
Tom

I'm not a fan of reporters either. I used to think I wanted to be one, but i quickly changed my mind. Too much ego and wanting to break the next big story, be it truth or lies. Thank you, Tom, for this nice review. Gretchen
