This is a nice entry for the Precious Memory competition. The photograph is heartbreaking as pets often don't understand their loved one has departed this life. They truly are loyal and loving unconditionally and their presence in our lives can be so comforting. Nicely done!

That is a beautiful poem, with a beautiful picture. That our pets know when things happen, but their love is always there is so true, it never strays. Such a loving poem and picture. I wish you the very best of luck in this contest. Well done! Sandra xxx

Your words are touching and the pic fits your words perfectly. Dogs are so loyal and stay with us forever. I like how your words rhyme, it adds to the strength of your theme.

They are the most beautiful of animals, there's a story of a dog called Blackfriars Bobby, and a statue erected in his honour in Edinburgh, Scotland of a dog that would visit his deceased master and guard, he was a Skye terrier, and for fourteen years he lay on his beloved master's grave, until he joined him, well done, beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

I think there are countless stories like the one you shared, If we could only tap into the unadulterated and unconditional love and loyalty of our beloved dogs, we would have a much better world. Thanks you so much for your review and insightful comments.

Okay, this is a heartbreaker! We always speak of how someone (a human) is devastated because they lost their best friend (the 4 paw kind). I can relate because I have lost of few and still mourn their passing, but how often we forget that the pup who is left behind, doesn't understand where his or her best friend went either. Great contest entry.

You're so right, Carol. Losing their master or mistress does not, in any way, affect their love and loyalty in the slightest. They will stay as close as possible to their departed loved one until their dying day. This has been shown time and time again by these beloved and amazing animals. We could learn much from them. Thank you so much for your review and kind words.

This is definitely a six star piece. Your presentation is beautiful and it is also such a touching thought that the dog would be there at the grave of his master and that he shows his care. I am totally impressed with your work here. Patricia.

An excellent entry for the Precious Memory contest. Your poem brings words to the heart-breaking scene in the photo. Dogs are one of God's greatest blessings given to us in this life. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

It's just amazing what our beloved canines can do and how they experience life on the planet and how they connect with us humans even after death. Great pic to illustrate.

That's a lovely poem. I think the picture goes with it perfectly. You do a wonderful job of sharing a deep sense of love that we have for dogs and vice-versa. It captures true friendship beautifully.

Thank you, Michael. You have described my poem beautifully. Actually, I think the photo is a poem in itself. It doesn't need words to capture what you so beautifully expressed in your review.
