Boy, I am reading so many sad poems this morning. You ask the ultimate question here
Can the love they left behind
Last us? Help us grow?
So many times, the loss of a loved one sinks us to depths from which we never recover. Only the strong can grow.
I'm sure Nomi appreciates your words. Love of others is the only thing that can help relieve the pain of losing someone.

This is beautiful, Rachelle, both as a love poem and as a tribute to Yvonne.

Your last verse, in particular, reads like a Hallmark card, in the best way. When I choose a card for someone I love, my decision is based on whether or not its words can make me cry. This would have that effect, as it hits so close to home for my own love story.

Your poem flows very smoothly and, as always, your rhymes are perfectly chosen.

Thank you - and welcome home! How was the cruise?
reply by Michele Harber on 18-Sep-2024
You're welcome, and thanks for the welcome home.

The cruise wasn't as good as I'd hoped, as this turned out to be an older ship without as many of the attractions and activities found on other ships in the line. However, we did have some nice moments, and I enjoyed the ports. We had a couple of amazing shore excursions. In Halifax, we visited, among other sites, a cemetery where many of the victims of the Titanic were buried. I was very moved by it, but even more moving was that our guide, who we discovered on the spot was Jewish, was leaving rocks on several of the tombstones.

Oh wow! That helped to make it memorable and relatable, too.

Hello Rachelle,
this poem really resonated with me. Well done gal. Nomi has had so many tributes to his wife on this site, and I'm certain he's been blessed by the love of so many people that he'll probably never even meet. Well done on this gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Prayers for Nomi and family. Loss comes in so many forms, but in death, it seems final. I believe we will see them again. This is a beautiful piece you delivered to Nomi.
God bless,
Steve

I know Nomi will cherish this poem as he will the others. I also know he feels the comfort of Fanstorians' prayers are being lifted up for his family and friends. Thank you for adding this one to the list.

It was very moving and filled with love and friendship for Nomi and all who have lost their loved one. When we face the void - the emptiness - that they once filled for us, there are so many questions of why and how, but in the end, we cherish the memories left behind and believe that it is merely an "until we meet again."

Thank you for writing this lovely poem for Nomi. He says that all the friendship and overflowing love help him each day.

Smiles, Carol

Oh, Rachelle, this was beautiful. You nailed it here. I often wonder why certain people are allowed to remain here while other, more deserving are sent away. This was such a well written poem. I'm sure Nomi will get great comfort from it. Gretchen

A fine poem Rachelle full of gentle words to soothe Nomi in his hour of need and I enjoyed the sentiments here. Fine rhymes and these words slip off the tongue like butter, a magical read with warm emotions, love Dolly x

This is lovely, Rachelle. I like the various questions you left unanswered in the poem, and then the unasked question that's answered at the end. I'm sure Nomi will appreciate your kind and thoughtful words. Blessings. Carol
