Miranda loves her son Waylon so much, I can see that the more I read. The bio father left his son behind for no good reason from what I'm reading and a man like that doesn't care nor deserve such a blessing like Waylon. Great writing. Miranda is a strong kind character.

Thank you so much. A lot of people don't care for Miranda's attitude but I love it. I appreciate the nice review. Gretchen

Miranda did good for Waylon, maybe. I had a teacher like that who simply hated me. My sister copied all my papers for that same teacher and turned them in. I got Cs, she got As, and the teacher had one of her (my dull) poems published. Miranda may find she hates that teacher.

Teachers are sometimes the worst enemy of a kid. Thank you for this . That teacher you described was pathetic to steal your work. Gretchen

You have well described many readers teachers I'm sure. I wanted to make sure that I was not like the teachers I had had. I did not tolerate bullying and I certainly didn't bully my students. I was kind of put on the chopping block as a teacher because I was attempting to teach the whole child i thought that was one of the things teachers were supposed to do teach the whole child but they wanted me just to teach the math and english. Tomlin, turns, looking down his long nose at me. "Mrs. Wilcox, it's not my job to encourage these kids, my job is to teach."
I love this: ""Mr. Tomlin, I'm afraid this was me being polite. When I have a tantrum, as you call it, you will wet your prissy little britches. That is a fact. Good day, Mr. Tomlin." great writing

This was very realistic. I like how Miranda feels she has hit on a good relationship with Mitch, as well. I look forward to where this is heading. Keep up the great story.

Oh no! I don't think Miranda helped Waylon at all with that comment. Things went way south despite all the tongue biting. I am now concerned for poor Waylon. I liked the conversation between Miranda and Mitch. I think she should have had Mitch talk with Tomlin. I bet that would have "wet his prissy little britches."

Hahaha.... I love Miranda! She is my kind of middle age bad ass. LoL

I hate Mr Tomlin.... he makes me mad. I hope Miranda let's him have it.

Also, I hope she can keep Waylon.

It's funny how we read the works of people we don't know in any way other than from reading what they post, but yet we come to learn some of what we truly believe to be real personal traits written into their characters. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not confrontational at all. I'm sneaky, though. Lol. I will low key give you a piece of my mind. Thanks for this. Gretchen

Go Miranda! I knew she wouldn't take Mitch's suggestion and send a note. That subtlety would probably be lost on Tomlin. I like Miranda's approach better. Get on with the job. I loved her retort about wetting his prissy little britches. The battle lines are drawn now!

Now we wait for Waylon's reaction. Might not be what Miranda expects. Lol. Thank you, Jim, for this encouraging review. Gretchen

Mr Tompkin sounds like a real turd, he talks to adults like they are dirt beneath his feet, I think Miranda might be able to best him, she's pretty feisty, I doubt he'll last very long, teachers are supposed to be diplomats, and they are there to encourage, i remember I thrived under the tutelage of fair humanistic teachers, but not under indifferent ones, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thank you. Who knows if she'll be able to get through to him. But somehow, we know another encounter is bound to happen. Thank you for this. Gretchen

I want to give you a hundred sixes for this, because it is absolutely SPECTACULAR!!!! Omigawd!! I love Miranda! "When I have a tantrum, as you call it, you will wet your prissy little britches. That is a fact..."
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I want her to eviscerate him!!! I'll be cheering you...er, um, HER on from the sidelines!!!

GREAT chapter!
xoxoxo

Teachers like him should have to be the cafeteria monitor every time they get a complaint from a parent!

I think bathroom monitor would be a better deterrent. Lol. Thank you so much. Her little victory might blow up in her face when Waylon finds out she interfered. I really appreciate the encouraging review. Gretchen

Well, yeah; teens find it hard to let a parental good deed go unpunished..
