Gypsy,
This is such a wonderful poem, full of love and passion.
Your words and images flow like crystal waters.
Wonderful work, Gypsy.
Purple is the color of passion and you use it well in the background of your poem.
Blessings,
Gypsy

I think that some Christians are shocked that song of songs is overtly sexual, but it isn't as much as they think, but as a Christian male it makes me feel uncomfortable, but Christ's love for His bride is certainly passionate, but explained in human terms, reproduction is not needed in Heaven, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Another fine poem, Gypsy----several light years and more years I seem to recall something very similar applying to me, but it may only be wishful thinking?

This is a very well written poem tgat reminds me of Solomon's intoxication with the Shulamite woman. I have always found that the sings of Solomon are indeed twofold, with a spiritual and physical interpretation. Well done.

Thank you very much for your exceptional six stars
review and kind words. Yes, the songs are very sensual, which is a natural part of life, but I was surprised to find them in the Bible. My girlfriend told me about it a year ago. I love the poetic and romantic theme.

Thank you for your rich wealth of imagery here, Gypsy: nature's kingdom wrapped up in this passionate and sexual verse. I can virtually smell those intoxicating lavender fields land had no idea that the flower is an aphrodisiac. I thought it was known for its calming properties. Beautifully done, Gypsy! Debbie

I looked for aphrodisiac flowers and found lavender, I love the smell but it does calm the mind.
Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

This had a very fantasy feeling to it. Almost mythological. Where the woman had the power over the man. Beautiful imagery and strong emotion. One question, is it extasy or ecstasy? Great poem. Gretchen

It's ecstasy, I went by sound and checked the dictionary but it was the wrong choice. English is a difficult language. In Spanish, the words' spelling match the sound.
Thank you very much for your excellent review and kind words.

You really made the Song of Solomon come alive and in technicolor purple with this poem! I haven't read the Song of Solomon in Eugene Peterson's translation but you might enjoy his version sometime. Try reading The Message Bible. He uses American English idioms a lot.
Beautiful poem of passion!

hmm... interesting... lavender? an aphrodisiac? i see it more calming...
love the entangled in billows of sighs line!
second line of third stanza is "askew"...
let us lie on plush verdant grass
veiled by the shade of the
tree of life
overflowing with cherry blossoms
amidst the scent of passion
other than that, a wonderfully imagistic poem
thank you for sharing!

Thank you, I fixed that stanza. It was weird, I tried to fix it many times and ended up retyping the stanza.
Thank you for the review!
