There are so many things you went through that others did not have to. I know the feeling of being the "second-cousin" as everyone else seemed to have it made. Great cultural clashes may be on their way.

Beth, I am just really enjoying reading about your youth and coming of age. We all have different experiences and ways we were raised. You tell the story in such a grounded manner. Thoroughly enjoying this. Gretchen

Thank you, Gypsy. Not this book yet. I have two that pick up after I get married that are published. I have a three or four more chapters to write and hope to publish it shortly after Christmas.

Coming of age isn't easy; especially, when you're getting lots of attention and have a steady you know isn't going to like it. It takes me back to when an old friend wondered how I kept my busy date schedule. All I could say is, "Lie a lot." But back then, all lies weren't the same. You had a little white lies, and the big black lies. It wasn't long until I figured out it was just easier to tell the truth, and not what they wanted to hear.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure you were a lot of the ladies to handle, especially if you were juggling more than one date. That is nerve wracking. You could end up losing them all at once.

Lost them all more than once. LOL. But luckily there were a few waiting in the wings.

This is a beautiful coming of age chapter. The moment you shared in that room where everyone returned their caps annd gowns was epic. It was a turning of the page in a book that was still full of empty pages. And the way you embraced the new friends st your college was also pivotal. It broadened your horizon. I enjoyed the read.

You write in a way that many can relate to. That final high school graduation realization that you may never see some of your classmates again is difficult to accept. I'm always amazed at the clarity of your memory, and how you make me think back and remember my own life and experiences as a young person just out of high school. This is another remarkable chapter.

I enjoyed reading this chapter, Beth, and walking down memory lane with you. I also remember my high school graduation in Arkansas. Your story flows well and hits the major points in a logical manner. Great read.

Ah I love this extension of your early life, you courtship with Evan, obviously you must have been very attractive when young, but you were always going to be a good wife another, and it's obvious you are very gifted. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy, I didn't think of myself as so attractive. Girls that age usually focus on any flaw they might have. I appreciate the review.

It seems Evan is a little more serious at this time than you are, but that's understandable because he's a little older and has more life experience. I enjoy reading your memoirs.

Aw, Beth, this is such a wonderful chapter. Life was different back then and certainly not in a bad way. On the contrary, we could with some of it these days. I can't wait to see how this is going to progress. Hugs, Ulla xcx
