How incredible, these scammers have absolutely no sense of decency, I can't imagine how they can possibly do what they, perhaps they could turn their abilities over to the good side, they prey like rabid animals. Well done, thanks for sharing Barbara, blessings Roy

Thank you for writing this, Barbabra. Scammers are the absolute worst humans on the planet and the problem is they are so good at their jobs. I try to go by the old standard...if it sounds too good to be true, and costs money, RUN! lol This should be very helpful to others.

I've had a similar call. I didn't even bother contacting my publisher. I'm sure I'll get "bit in the ass" someday, but still automatically assume scams. I've got one right now about money owed for driving in a zone that required a pass. Ignored that one too. Hope I'm right.

You were smart not to fall into the trap and to consult your publisher about the call. There are so many scams out there. It happens on the internet, too. A scam caller loses me if he or she asks how I'm doing. Glad you're advising others about this. Who wouldn't want to see more books? It's amazing how so much of your personal information gets spread around. I've had people even try to use my credit number to make an insurance payment, and I didn't even recognize the name of the company. judi

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. For a mere $49.95 per month you can have our "service" amp up your position in the listings. Just think, if we only increase your sells by 10 a week, then your monthly fee is paid for then, and the other three weeks are gravy. And this does not count on the customers that now buy your books directly.
The sky's the limit with our service! I used to write spiels for sales people. I could write this in my sleep. You are smart to catch him. I hope your story saves other people from trouble. Karen

But you have to remember, as you did, that you are under contract and the contracted publisher is obligated to fulfill their half of the bargain, and you are obligated to stay with them. Westbow warned me of scammers that will offer you movie deals, distribution deals, all sorts of things. Sorry times we are living in. estory

Yes, Kevin has warned me about other companies contacting me. This person pretended to be from Amazon. He was not. Thank you for the support.
