I guess the 'p' at end of 3rd verse is a typo?
5th verse, 1st line seems a syllable short for meter, so maybe 'wasn't' instead of 'weren't' unless 'weren't is two syllables, which it isn't to my pronunciation.
6th verse change in meter threw me as well.
Maybe 'to have no lips' would read better?
It seems the parrot has learned some bad cussing habits. :-)
Sorry about the nit-picks, as I REALLY DID enjoy this original and imaginative write.
It's worth a sixer apart from the mini things I've highlighted.

Yes... I think during one of my editing sessions, I typed a p without realizing it, so thanks so much for pointing that out. I went through the poem again, following your suggestions as best I could. You made some excellent points and I sincerely appreciate it. I am so glad to know you were able to enjoy this bit of foolishness, in spite of its booboos. The stanza about no lips wasn't clear I guess. I was trying to say the birds had no lips, therefore it might be a sin for "me" to laugh. It is carried onto the next stanza which is difficult, I know. Anyway, your comments were most helpful and I'm very grateful.

This was a delightful poem to read. Written in the quatrain style with great rhythm and rhyming throughout the poem. Has a great picture to accompany the poem.
