A noble tree, like the yew. In some cultures it is revered--which is why it appears in imaginative fiction so much. Its wood also makes for solid furniture.

A very well constructed 5-7-5

An absolutely stunning photo for your poem. It must be in Georgia or South Carolina to command such a long history and majesty.

Your poem is very nice paying homage to the continued strength and perseverance of this beautiful tree.

Best of luck. AT=/

The Mighty Oak stands
Fast through countless seasons as
The years slowly pass

perfect structure or the prompt. Has 5-7-5 syllable count and the topic is spot on about a tree
Good luck in the contest

And they should always remain here! Not betaken away by land developers.

The Mighty Oak stands
Fast through countless seasons as
The years slowly pass

Nicely done... John

Growing up in Ohio, I was used to being up in and around theses great and mighty trees. They are the hearty and strongest of the trees, whether in the woodlands or our backyards. This is a very good contest entry and I wish you good luck in this contest,,,,,,,Jim

This is a nice, short, description of a steadfast oak tree.
Flows well and the picture goes well with the poem. Good luck with the contest.
