A good reminder for all of us to be careful with our words as they can be dangerous and destructive...
They say before you react and let out angry words, inhale and count deep breaths up to ten...or twenty... but then it seems we only remember this advice when the outburst is done :(
Best of luck in the contest.
Blessings,

I am always amazed at how much meaning you can capture in so few words when you do this well. And you did this very well. Good job

Oh here is some great advice, johngie!
well said... ;)
Seems to be the theme around here,
eh? :(
So sad that some people can't watch what they say.
This written very well and meets the syllable count for the senryu
and meets all the other requirements for human nature as well.
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you Cat. It came in second after the cloud poem.
It does seem to fit with all the reviewer posts. Kinda funny how that worked out.

Yeah, well... that's good, second... good for you! ;)
I never have mastered the short verses much. ;)
Congrats!

Yes, we need to engage our brain before opening our mouth. Good job with the format. Your picture and words make a great pair and a wonderful statement. Good job and thanks for sharing and caring.

Very important message! It seems to tie into the recent poems encouraging people to write more caring reviews...
I like how you showed that these words reflect the calloused soul:
"Callous words slip out..."
Really good word choices:
"Spontaneous, abrasive."
Plenty of "S" assonances...
And the plain, outspoken message at the end:
"Think before speaking."
Great poem!
Thank you for sharing!

"Engage the brain before putting mouth in gear." (I heard this saying when I was in High School. Another favorite saying comes from Marc Anthony's Eulogy of Caesar.
"The Evil that man do lives after them, while the Good is oft interred with their bones." This is well written.

Ah yes, agree with your comment also. Great thought well portrayed in these few words so true. I'm thinking this will be a great contender for the vote.

Thanks for this poem. There are many of us who need to read this and realize we need to stop for a moment or two and think before we speak. I could well keep us from destroying friendships. Patricia
