Hi Annie thanks for sharing this delightful verse about the moon. It's easy flowing lines and simplicity of word structure make it perfect for kids to understand and enjoy. and adults also... I love rhyming verse and the final stanza is a beauty.. finishing with that question ' are those the times you cannot sleep?' what a lovely ending to keep those little minds pondering. thanks for sharing and have a happy day, cheers mel xx

Thank you so much for the review of my poem. It is amazing how childhood memories pop up into the mind when writing. I was always a daydreamer and think that is how much of my "stuff" has come about. Have a good day.

Really nice poem - for children AND for adultst. Can imagine a grandmother and grandchild leaning on a window-jamb looking up at the moon and reciting your words.
Your work reads smoothly. The rhyming is effortless (seamless and doesn't draw attention tothe rhyme itself).
Very nice.
God bless and my best,
Relda

Thank you for your kind review. I have always been fascinated by the moon, and the changes day by day in it's appearance.

Love the - cloudy mist of angel lace - great description. This is a lovely children's poem with each verse telling its own little story. A delightful read.

Thank you so much. I always loved the moon and finding the face when it was full. We lose that when we grow up.

So I really loved this. Perhaps because I still retain an early childhood memory of a well loved visiting uncle and all of my family on our driveway with him admiring a full moon. My uncle telling me the story of the man in the moon and pointing his features out to one rapt five year old child. That would be me. Lovely.

Nice work! I really enjoyed this, and I 'm not even a child, lol. Really descriptive imagery with a child-like fantasy and wonder.
Take care,
Russell

Yes this is a more grown up poem for children than most and it will make a good bridge from the nursery to the schoolroom. The last verse interest me as an ex teacher as it could lead to a discussion as to why the moon is sometime visible by day and other features of the waxing and waning moon.

A very interesting review. I thank you for your input. I can remember wondering why the moon was visible during the day. My first child's poem so I appreciate your time in review.

Children have always been fascinated by moon. They love to hear mythological stories of moon which grannies love to share with them. Your poem has been written nicely keeping children in mind. It is simple and rhymes well. Good luck to you in the contest.

I love your moon poem for children. I have difficulty writing a children's poem, because I'm not sure how to write for young minds? Any hints?
Best wishes in this contest.

-Good artwork.
-Good imagery and use of rhyme.
-You tell a good story about the moon.
-Many questions about the moon that children would like:
"Oh moon why do you ring your face
With cloudy mist of angel lace?"
-Other lines I line are:
* "And then I watch as you erase
Your round shape down to crescent face."
