Wow. This deserved to win, for sure. And I would have voted had I been here.
So well done, in perfect meter and rhyme, the sentiment is heart-clutching... and all those unsaid things.
Well done, my dear friend. Hugs and love,

A sixer, for sure... :(

Your title is perfect and the picture of the innocent child is poignant. Your adding rhyme intensified the emotion. I hope you gained some solace in writing about this tragedy. The heart break was palpable as validated by your win in this contest, and I regret not having a six to add to your collection. Warm regards- Joan

Thanks so much, Joan. A wished-for six is every bit as appreciated, my friend. :)

Commentary is not necessary. Respect for your openness
does call for a word. Dawn, this part of you would not be
known but for you courage to share it. You will be getting
my vote. -Bill

Hi D-D,
what is to say that has not already been conveyed through the use and magic of your art? No, this piece stands alone within the sadness, beauty, merit and meaning of its intent... enough said!
Love and respect you dear friend.

Well, you have my vote, my dear Dawn, this is really very well written. Your imagery is vivid, it has oodles of emotion in it, for obvious reasons. It is truly a winner in my book. Sorry no more 6 left... and it's only Tuesday! Good luck my friend. xxx Sandra

Heartbreak is understatement! You have put this so painfully well.If there ever was a poem to encompass what a mother feels upon loosing a child, this is it. Masterfully written.

Okay, my friend, you'll have to share more than just that to us - your friends, here. You've brought a tear to my eye and I don't even know the whole story! Bless your sweet heart. Sorry - I commented on content. But I CARE.

Great poem. Good luck!

AND you don't have to reply, my friend.

Dawn, this broke my heart, and I won't comment as you've requested. But be assured that you have written a beautiful poem showing your raw feelings. I'm a mother too. All my best. Ulla xx

I try to usually only review one from each member a day, Dawn, but this is too touching to pass by.

You ask us not to comment on content, so it's difficult to know what to say.

I know some of your history (gained from YOU), so enough said, but I find your words fantastically heartfelt and sad.

Such memories remain in our souls - I KNOW from sad personal experience of my relationship with my daughter, and I will always remember her as a baby and wonderful loving daughter as she grew up until things went irretrievably wrong between us - as always fault on both sides. I try to keep that at the back of my mind, but I'm now becoming very emotional remembering our relationship when it was SO SO SO special. I'm starting to cry now, so I'll sign off.

Cheers, Ray xx
