Brava, June! Your astute and witty piece overtook my somber one ("The World Cries..."). Both address complicated concerns, neither likely to be satisfactorily resolved anytime soon.
Wishing you continuing FanStory success,
Don

It's a great commentary in this restrictive form. I do agree that even though we've made so many strides in everyday life through technology but we are missing some of the most precious things such as connecting in person.

So true. Guess I'm just old school. Thanks for taking the time to read and review.

This duodec-liner, Old versu New, has the required twelve lines with a rhyme included and an opinion of the opinion. Together we see and, for some, mourn the slow slide into illiteracy that technology has made posible.

You've written this one well.
My favorite part: 'I miss those days when coffee was ground by hand
and castles were built - not in the cloud - but in the sand'
The artwork is good. The image shown goes well with the poem. The background color is a good choice.
The author's notes are appreciated. Thank you!
Best of luck to you in the contest.
Thanks for sharing your Duodecliner.
Good luck with your future writing.

I enjoyed your poem. You did a great job with a difficult style. You expressed your thoughts & feelings well. Some 'old' things are still the best, I agree. Your image is perfect. Good job & best wishes in the contest. Jan

Great job! I have never tried writing that style of poetry but inspired to now. Words and meaning to the poem were so true and spot on. Again great job and keep it up!

I really like the sardonic TONE of this Duodecliner which mocks a "brave new world" even Aldous Huxley didn't imagine. Wonderful examples cited of a world that appears to have taken two steps backwards for each step forward. Some wonderful rhymes chosen.

The old coffee maker reminds me of my coffee maker. A very good poem and a good contest entry. I think you will do well.
