I like a storm once in a while too. Not so much the thunder and lightning and my doggy surely doesn't like them. This is a well written 5-7-5. Illustration is impressive. Marilyn

Thank you. I have a cat that feels the same way!

I'm with you on this one, Anonymous Poet.
Whenever an active thunderstorm comes rolling in I'm always the first one sitting on the front porch taking in Mother Nature's light show.
Before I sign off I wanted to let you know that I read this in the prose category when it should be listed in poetry. You will have to contact Tom Ens, the site administrator, to have him switch it for you.
Best wishes to you in the contest.

I, too, love storms. But I live in a place where storms tend to be moderate in nature. No Tornado Alley for me. No Katrina magnets.
I wonder if your opening line is as strong as it can be?
Statements are rarely poetic.
Just a thought.
Peace, Lee

That's true, but I think the rules were that we had to start with..."I love". I welcome any suggestions and comments, and I'm so glad you read my poem,

thank you for sharing this well structured 5-7-5 about love. You have done a great job of describing your love for the storm - and then used descriptive words to emphasize what you love.
Well done and good luck in the contest,

Thank you so much for your kind review. I really do love storms, complete with thunder and lightning, and we have been getting a lot of that this summer in Minnesota. I'm glad you read my poem, I appreciate it so much.
Comment from Meia (MESAYERS)
I love them too, though they get the adrenaline racing and the dogs nervous! I think it is marvellous how the thunder and lightning reduce us to primitives again, my mother and the dogs hide under the bed lol there is something primordial about it and I think you have captured that very neatly in the fantastic poem, enjoyed very much well done Meia xx

Thank you so much. I have a cat called pandora, that takes cover anytime a storm happens.😊. I'm so glad you read my poem and I love any feedback I can get.

I, too, love stormy days, especially nights when the Lightning flares.
Good focus on audio images in line 2 and the visual drama in line 3.

I also love a good thunderstorm, though my dog is not as much a fan. Great job on the poem, and best of luck in the contest! :)
