This is hilarious. I enjoyed your wit in these lines, especially;
Your store list has Depends 'n Tums
Have doldrums
and:
Laugh when you speak
You'll start to leak
and:
Stiffness is in
You, but not him
Love the rhymes, too, especially the first stanza and the slant rhymes here as well:
Your memory harbors passions
Now on ration
Pitch perfect closing shift in perspective:
But be grateful and full of glee
God's gift you see
Enjoy each day
The carefree way
Flawless meter too.
Thanks for a highly entertaining (and accurate!) write...
Namaste,

Thank you so much for this scintillating review. It means more to me to give pleasure with my poetry than winning any contest. Hugs, Trisha

Good and very true poem. Perfect picture. Getting old is something we cannot stop so you just better just enjoy it. Good flow of words makes this a fun and easy read.

The effects of aging, no matter if you are male or female, are not fun to look at in a mirror. I like your Speaker's ability to laugh at herself yet retain what's really important--a positive outlook. Rod

Thanks, Rod The speaker has found humor has set her a high limbo bar. Don?t look at mirrors and listen to her inner younger inner self. LOL I appreciate your kind review

Very well done. My mother had a hard time with the reflection in the mirror as she got older. I couldn't understand why. She was always so beautiful to me at every age. Good luck with the contest.;)

My mother did too, but it came in the form of wistfully complimenting my .looks. Now it?s time that bothers me I?m 70 and getting anxious how much I have left. Thanks for your kind review.

I liked the way you wrote this poem as if I was taking little breaths as I spoke. I felt like I was trying to talk while jogging.
The picture you used made me think about exercising .
I related to every word. I am 58 saying goodbye to my last bit of youth. I don't mind wrinkles so much and I let my hair grow grey.. The leaking is hard for me to accept along w the pantry liners. I find this discouraging.
It's realuzing every piece of me is aging. I somehow adjust to each change, because I get used to it. But if I were to make a list it would be quite long.
I do feel blessed that my genetics are good. My mom turns 80!this week. The age gap is closing.
It's very wierd to see my own children aging.
Life goes so fast.
Your poem resonates w me, because just last night, I was thinking how the changes in my body were riobbing me of my dignity .
A young mind in a old body.
It seems like everyday there is some new change.
I read such research that says that women in their fifties are not usually sees. By that, I mean young women in a store are seen and seniors are notice. However, the fifty into sixty is a grey area.
I am trying to make my aging fun. I jhave added tattoos and ear piercings. There is also a confidence I am gaining that I didn't have when I was younger .
Embracing and resisting at the same time.
Thoughtful read. Thanks for writing this.

You are very welcome. I agree with your list. The most important thing is to love life while you are healthy. I?ve had 3 possible life threatening health situations plus Parkinson?s and I?m 70 now. I live as aggressively (strongly) as I can. I search for ways to overcome as much as I can. Love yourself first.
Thanks so much for your wondeful review and six stars, hugs, Trisha

lol... Thanks for that. I liked the good humour in this, and indeed the message. We should enjoy life in a carefree way, as we're here for an ever so short time. I do notice changes to myself in the mirror and it's hard not to let vanity get in the way, but hey! I'm still alive. I enjoyed this. :)

Haha! Hi there, Trisha. I'm only now making my way through the replies. Yes, I've been around the block a bit. Starting to feel a bit battered by the writing world. I was a member of a number of social media groups, but I find people are a lot less moany on FanStory! :)) Have a lovely Sunday, and I hope to see more of you! <3

I wish the same for you too

This is a risque write Trisha and I love the sentiments, we should not succumb to old age especially in the mind, keeping it open to new things is paramount for our happiness, wise words, love Dolly x
