Yes,
Sometimes you can?t see the forest through the trees and weeds and flowers grow in the strangest of places. You have surely seen some plant growing out of a cement street. I needed many better (re)views in the contest to secure a top three placement. But I did like your good wishes.

I like your strong use of juxtaposition here. This subject could easily be dandelions. It's interesting you write this about violets. I work so hard to save the dandelions and violets when mowing. I recently read about making violet vinegrette. It is very pretty and is tasty for salads, including a few violet petals. Maybe we could tell those elitist neighbors we'd be glad to take some of their violets off their land's hands so we can sit outside enjoying our salad among the violets on our lawn.

hi Liz,
I have not tried dandelion wine either! Your salad idea is a good one. Feel free anytime to pick both from my yard (or my neighbors) to fill your p(a)late. There are many to choose from before the crabgrass arrives in the summer. Well, at least, it's green (-;
My typical style is 5-7-5. Longer verse is not in my poetry wheelhouse.
THANKS for your comments and endorsement of my idea.

My wife says they are pretty. I don?t disagree (-: They do complement the many dandelions. Neither plant or flower/weed has ever made it to our table for a salad or wine! THANKS Yvette, as always, for supporting my 5-7-5s.

I love your wording of 'purple dots'! And I couldn't agree more. I love seeing green lawns sprinkled with color from wild flowers, even dandelions! My dad hated those weeds but I see them as colorful beauty. Great 5-7-5 and I wish you well in the contest! :)

Hi suep!
Yep, we have this dandelions too. But they had too many syllables. You were right, all are colorful beauties.

-Very nice image
and presentation.
-The syllable count is
good, along with the topic.
-Effective imagery that
creates a vivid word picture
of the lawn and flowers.
-Good color imagery, too,
and a good concluding line.
-Good luck in the contest.

I JUST planted a bunch of wildflowers in my garden! I'm doing a little science experiment this year! I just turned the soil and randomly threw seeds in the ground. I wanna see if they grow without too much work. Lol. This is a great 5-7-5 entry! I found no errors!!! Good job!
