The perfect advice for these and for any days, my lady!! ;) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette
Sorry so far behind - will be permanently "caught up" and "in a routine" by the end of the week (unless the 'unexpected' happens...lol!)

You make a valid point, Iza. I enjoyed reading your post. You express your thoughts/feelings well. I agree. There has to be a balance between work and play,
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
May I suggest:
I always use this excuse, that there it's [ is ] an amazing life outside work. Even God rested on the seven [ seventh ] days.

I'm with you Iza, being clever, or rich, or incredibly talented is not the be all, and need all, after all we came the same way, and for certain we leave the same way, naked as a jay bird. And when we wear no clothes, who knows the difference...only God. Beautifully written, blessings, Roy

Iza,
Your chapter is full of wisdom. I used to work 7 days
a week in a steel mill. Raising a family, I would work 16
hour days on the weekends.
Now I am 66 and 5 weeks away from retirement.
I relish the opportunity to relax and decide how to spend
my time. Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Richie

A nice little reminder that all work and no play makes for a dull existence. Everybody needs to relax and recharge every so often. I liked your little portrait of the university professor walking with his head in the clouds. I think they are so wrapped up in their specific disciplines and areas of expertise that they are disconnected from the rest of the world in some ways. estory

This is an interesting story.
Noticed one typo:
I always use this excuse, that there it's an amazing life outside work. Even God rested on the seven days (seventh day.).

(rested on the seven days s/b seventh); insert comma after normal human being) Excellent point --I am with you--you handle this skillfully and with touches of humor--unplug and reprogram. Cheers. LIZ

I'm glad you want to be sane. I do think it's not just "brilliant" but generally, men tend to be married to their work more than women. It's a generalization - some women are that devoted to work also. I like your choice to have balanced life and appreciate the life that God gave us!

Yeah, I am not happy with this situation, but I guess this is one of those choices we make down the road...

Sometimes I have to unplug him and reprogram into the real family world.
- the word 'him' should be moved after reprogram
Yes, we all can get swept away sometimes and forget the other important things in our lives. It's good he has you.

Good Evening, Lancellot:) knight in shinny armour, thank you so much for taking a chance on this small piece and for the grammar corrections.

I've seen a number of absent minded professors back in my day. I'm sure there are a number of people who can relate this. Heck, even in college there were times when I worked myself crazy. We all do at some point.
