Hah, well, talk about being scared! This really leaves one wondering, though... Were they reanimated by some freak of nature, some rogue, mutant strain of bacteria or pathogen? Or, were they simply too tired to...(wait for it...) leave, ha-ha?

This is a fabulous 5-7-5. Good luck in the prompt when voting time rolls around.

It must be a scary Halloween indeed, if leaves jumped back on the trees. In this little 5-7-5 you are giving life to the leaves in an effort to portray the scariness of this Halloween eve. You adhered to the rules, and the artwork is great. Good luck. :) Sandra

This is a nice little Halloween poem. The image of leaves jumping back onto trees is a very unusual, but interesting one. It created a nice picture in my mind. Thank you for sharing this!

Either very frightened
Or tornado winds

(Which are pretty frightening).

Nice, whimsical Halloween five seven five.

Makes me think twice before crunching them underfoot.

This was a fun read, and your picture complemented it very well. I laughed at the thought of those poor dead leaves trying to get back in the tree. LOL Blessings and good luck in the contest.

Your 5-7-5 is beautifully enhanced by the artwork you have chosen to join. The fright in the poem is captivated well in the picture. Very nicely done!

Kind regards

Sarah

Whoa yes, this is indeed an excellent 5-7-5 Haiku (great job in NOT using caps or punctuation)...one that I enjoyed reading!

Extremely creative, perfect 5-7-5 form and of course...timely!

Thanks so much for sharing this, and best wishes for it in the 5-7-5 Haiku writing prompt contest!

All the best to you going forward, with warm regards...

JMU

This is a good Halloween-themed 5-7-5. Interesting to think of the leaves as being frightened out of their wits. (Since this is 5-7-5 instead of haiku, you can get away with the personfication.) Good luck to you, Jeanie Mercer

Well, this is an original twist on the theme of Halloween having the leaves going in reverse with fright. It's an amusing concept that even nature falls victim to the vagaries of Halloween. Quite clever and well done.

Ah, very clever! Whoever heard of the terrors of Halloween being so great as to reverse the course of nature. Doubtless they also turned a nasty shade of green! Halloween Eve is an interesting concept! The Eve of All Hallows Evening!
