Very well
Put together. It has a great flow and rhyme. Depression is one of the most difficult things one can endure. It's hard to put into words I can relate to depression I struggled with it my whole life. It's a constant battle. So sad and heart wrenching when one takes the route of suicide to end the neverending pain. A very informative and well written poem.

Dear Boogienights, Wonderful, heartrending poem about suicide and depression. I loved your verses and rhyme, it told me quite a story. I took an overdose once, and I knew a lot of people who committed or attempted suicide. Dove

Depression hits home for me. It's been a struggle on and off. I find I do my my intense writing though when I am in a low. Thank you for sharing with us all. Best of luck in your writing journey.

Thank you for reading my poem. I'm glad that it resonated with you and appreciate you sharing your feelings and experience. I wonder if you think there is anything I could improve upon. I noticed you gave me a good rating, so if there is anything I can do to make it better, let me know. It truly is the way I learn. Thanks again.

The last stanza of this poem is outstanding. In Europe we think of depression as a minor handicap, not a truly debilitating state of affairs that can have traumatic consequences. I learnt a lot from your poem. Thank you.

You have written a very moving poem here and one that many people feel every day. I've known too many people who could not see any other way to end their misery. And I hadn't known how sad they were.

I don't know of any adult who has not at least thought of what suicide may mean to them. "To be or not to be" is not new thinking. Nor is hara-kiri or self-sacrifice for the greater good. The crucifixion could be considered suicide.
My own gut-wrenching struggles eventually devolved into the realization that my pain was of my own making. I admitted that my body was only temporary housing and came to understand that whatever makes me aware of life is never going away.
It is not our purpose in life that needs to be known. It is the quest to find our purpose that will lead us to it. There is no escape from what we are.
Great job!! John

This is a wonderful poem and it is hard to know when someone is really suicidal. Many will say they are, but too often those who go through with it don't give a hint. I liked the fuzzy dice and plastic bag. And still, it seems he hasn't been found. "Missing" is even tougher on those who love.
I wonder if you could improve on this:
"His mother, she calls out . . . " -- the poem is too good to include this double subject grammar issue.

This is a very well written poem, painting a picture of depression and what it can lead to. "Who knows why depression causes such strife,
it treads oh so soft, yet cuts like a knife.
It can steal away breath and take away life."
So sad that many people are experiencing depression and fail to reach out for help which is so readily available.

Hi Boogienights,
Firstly, thank you for opening up your work to review other than 'the members only club'... for I was a full member here for years and do like coming in from time-to-time to read and review the works or authors who take me places within their words.
Your topic is very poignant and important, as it seems that suicide is only ever on the rise... and I'm guessing that it's probably personally affected most of us in one way or another.
I loved your presentation, artwork and layout. Your words spoke out loud and took me on that journey of thought... and yes, sadness and reflection on what may have been.
A clever use of rhyme that gave an edge of impact.
I enjoyed reading this poem, thank you for sharing it.
With our thoughts we create,
important words to narrate.
Regards, James.

Thank you for this great review and your thoughtful comments. I'm glad this resonated with you. I know someone who lost a son through suicide. It's a terrible tragedy. Thanks again for taking the time to read my poem.

Wow, I love this poem. I mean, the subject matter is unfortunate, but it's a very real problem in these modern times. It makes one wonder if anyone that they know could be suffering in silence. We can reach out in friendship, but ultimately, the hand of friendship must be taken. In any event, thank you for such a touching poem, so well written.
