Ha ha ha, it is stressful being in the automatic car wash as the noise and the thumping sound terrifying and there is no escape until it is all over, you could always hide in the boot (trunk)! A fun post, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks Paul. I think the FS site counts dashes as words, so I took out my dashes, and then ran short. I have now adjusted it slightly, counted the words (twice), and FS agrees it's eighty. Thanks for the pick-up and the heads-up. I appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed it.

I'll bet they even have a name for it--carwash phobia. Sounds plausible to me. Very nice surprise ending. I suppose I'll have second thoughts about riding through the wash, rinse, and buff cycle in the future.
