Debi, this is a very nice welcoming poem for a new member. I did read one of her works, and I agree she can write well. It will be interesting to see how she tells her story. Thank you for doing this. Karenina and Robin were one of the first to welcome me. Good Job. Terry.

You are on a roll, Debi. It's good to see that there are a number of new members to the FanStory club. I'll be looking forward to Alexandra's poems. Is that her FS name?

This was a lovely thing to do, writing a poem of welcome to
Alexandra, who is already proving herself so worthy, and who I admire so much for her bravery and persistence. However I find the poem does not always scan well, with maybe too many words in a line, or where a long word could be replaced with a shorter one. I suspect that in your eagerness to present Alexandra's poem you have neglected to polish. It can be remedied!

Hi Julie, you caught me and reminded me to do something that I meant to do right away. For now, at least before I do make this to read in better meter. And because they are my own Merry-go-Rhyme poems, I always just hope, that if you pause where the comma is, you will see it reads quite well in the actual syllable count. Unfortunately after being quite ill, I didn't plan on throwing another one together when I went to check her out. However I was intrigued at how much at least our medical stories were the same, I felt compelled to write one for her. I do want it perfect and I think there were only two lines that needed to be changed. I do thank you and if after you read again, and feel it sounds better, please let me know, and if you would decide to change it to a five, I just want you to know that you would just do it where you review and then save. Many don't realize they can, so just offering the info. Thanks again Julie, and I did not realize that you were new too until now. I welcome you also with all my heart.

Thank you, beyond words, Debi!! When the first person told me about this, it took me a day to find it. When I did, I was so overwhelmed, I needed time to reply. Embarrassing, I couldn't figure out how to find this, again, so no I finally searched, Debi. Now, you know me, emotional, grateful, and full of the best, most, unattainable, intentions, ever! I couldn't just reply, "Thank you," at first- that would not have been enough; and, definitely, not equal to the overwhelming happiness, & gratitude, that I felt!

This was very thoughtful of you, & it was also more appropriate, than you could've known. The picture you used, of two Grecian heads, possibly being, Aphrodite, I thought, were tailor-made for me. Inside, my married name, I am, Alexandra Androulidakis. My beloved father, who passed, March 2019,just months, before his 100th birthday, was Alexander Androulidakis, and he was born and raised, in Milos, Greece, until he set off, for a lifetime, at sea, at 15 years old.

There is so much more, friends, here, will come to know, about my father but, the first thing I want to highlight, is that, he grew up where the Venus de Milo, was found. Who was, Aphrodite, had been, renamed, to skip the details, as Venus. Venus, Goddess of Love, and all along, really, Aphrodite, from Milos, Greece. I am glad for the name change, because Frankie Vake, would have had, a much more difficult time, trying to write, let alone sell, THAT baby!

So, there's more... And, one night think you should be spared the details, to reward your extreme kindness, but this one, thinks ya need to know. :) Drumroll please... Greek tradition, assumes a father's first name, as a child's middle name. Yes, I am, inside, Alexandra Alexander Androulidakis!

Now, I can imagine, what you might be thing- besides, "Make it stop!" Of course. :) You might be thinking that these words sound, super grateful, for your kindness, and very happy to know you!

You made my day, & it will be a long day, because, I will never forget, how very kind, & welcoming, you were, to me! We have some things, in common, I realize, but there is so much more that we have yet to learn. That is what makes me feel happy to know you and, excited to be here!! My Greek Philosophizing, should surely, prove as much! :) Thank you!! Thank you!!
Your new friend, Alexandra

Oh Alexandra, I am so sorry it took me so long to get back to you regarding your poem. You are so very welcome and I can't wait to get back for a visit and review some of you. Unfortunately I am limited to mostly writing and thank you's as I am awaiting two eye surgeries. And as you can tell how long for me to get back to you, I am still backed up over 100 of them at this time.

I love that the picture I picked for your poem was worthy in your eyes and even relevant. You are such a lovely person and I am interested big time of your Greek ancestry and heritage,

No didn't want it to stop as one more thing we have in common is, I am known as the chatty one here. Lol, I think Ihave met my match. Hahaha!
I know we will be great friends, and please know that I will be back to read and review as my eyes can handle. Just found out tho that the surgeries are June 14 and 28th. So it will be a wait. But on the bright side, so worth it.
You are so sweet and thank you for all the kind words. You are so special my new sweet friend.

    Thank you! I hope your eyes will be ok until the surgeries and that they improve later. I hate to compete but four years ago I was told I had a careesct starting. I haven't been able to go back yet so just imagine lol I'm a Greek from NYC originally so I talk a lot I have to lol!! Feel better;;

Hi Santha, I haven't even met her yet. I reached out to her after Karenina asked me to show her some love. So I saw her talent and decided to give her a poem, as she only had one fan and you will never guess who that was. Lol, then I fanned her but not sure she has seen this yet. Her name is Alexandra Trovato. Thanks so much Santha!
She has a poem almost on top of home page, called Pies in the Sky, I think that is what it is.

That's very nice to write a poem to welcome her. She sounds lovely, and I will check out her writing later. I hope she will enjoy sharing her writing and getting to know a few people. You are a good 'welcomer'!

Wow and WOW, Debi. When I suggested you go have a look at her work, I knew you'd see you both have had some health challenges and neither one of you are about to let them overpower you!

What more can any new member ask than to have a welcome POEM, in her honor?

I'm smiling big. I know I was her one and only fan yesterday. I'm praying lots more sign on and make her feel at home...

BUT look at you!

You've put her center stage and under the lights!

VERY COOL!

Karenina

I saw that too, so I figured that maybe if introduced it might help others to check her out too. Actually, I got this poem going and forgot to go back and review her. I sure hope she reads it as I haven't heard from her yet. Thank you for being that Angel and Fairy as God really does make good things happen wherever your big heart shines. I am proud that you honor me with leading me in that direction. Thank you my precious friend.

Your HUGE sharing, caring heart is showing, Debi.
I enjoyed reading your super introduction to Alexandra.
You did a great job with the style, the choice of words,
the internal and end rhymes. I liked the color scheme
and font choice, too. I read Alexandra's notes. She's a
strong woman like you considering all both have dealt
with in life. Your picture choice was perfect. I'm thrilled
for you and she and believe you will be great inspiration
for each other.
Thanks for sharing and caring, Jan

Wowza. But you seem to know much about a lot of folks on this site! Another fine tribute to one of your many friends. I enjoyed the read but gotta say, I'm not a fan of this font. It's a struggle for my astigmatised eyes.

Hi Charles and thank you. I do not know Alexandra, but was trying to do a favor when I heard she could use a little love. So after reading her work, I decided to write a poem for her, but haven't heard from her yet.

I am really sorry that my font is hard on your eyes. To tell you the truth most are with me too, but have had to change my fonts so many times, and now when I found one that is most like printing and less like cursive's swirls, I thought I finally had one that wouldn't bother others eyes. I have truly tried to accommodate, because I understand it so well. I don't read and review much because I have some big time issues with my eyes, and the only thing I can do so it isn't completely blurry is to keep pinching the screen to make it bigger. I will be having cataract surgeries in April and that I hear is a piece of cake, but the real problem with my eyes is the retina damage when I got shingles in both eyes a couple years ago. So they will be repairing that too. So that is why I am writing so much now, as not sure if i can then. I just hate going thru the work of turning out a nice poem, and have the presentation and font boring. Please don't take that wrong, as I mean no offense against you. Others also remark. But i have tried every imaginable font and thought I finally had one to make it look nicer without the cursive swirls. I just look at so many others and think to myself how much more interesting it would be if it looked nicer. So thank you my very dear MN friend, and I appreciate your honesty among all else, and hope you feel the same.

The poetry is in the words. If you have the talent, which you do, show off your words with a simple font. In my opinion, flowery font only distracts and detracts. Your words don't need it. Merienda is a simple easy-to-read font but isn't as harsh and stark as some of the more traditional fonts. You might like it.
