This is beautiful Gretchen! I loved how you drew me into Grandma's world right along with her grandchild. As a Gramma, I can relate to the child's fascination with a lifetime so foreign to a them, and hope that I can have that same best-friendship with my own. Paper dolls, indeed!

Awe, This was so sweet. Life was so different when we were children. It is hard to explain how it was to the young ones of today. It boggles my mind when I think of the technology that has been introduced since I was young. Good job, Gretchen. Nancy:)

But I too saw your grandmother as a strong and brave little girl, living in a time when things were not easy. I remember my own paper dolls. I can imagine her joy in having a best friend to share about paper dolls. If I only had a six! It would be yours.

What a beautiful story. Using photographs wisely can make a story spring to life and have the reader being emotional. You succeded in doing just that here. I so loved the story, and the "twist", the last line.....really inspirational. It says it all as the effect grandma had on the narrator!

I loved this story you have penned about paper dolls and old photos. When I was young I loved playing paper dolls with my best friend. She lived across the street from me. Sometimes we would play in one of our back yards and other times in a field. We had the best time. You used great descriptive words and great dialogue!
